I can't believe I'm writing about this again, but my 2 1/2 year old is

the one who got sick on Thanksgiving. Long story short, I took her to

the ped who said it was in her chest and she needed antibiotics

because it could turn into pneumonia. I caved, and gave her 10 days

of Amoxicillin, that ended last Thursday.

Now her nose is still stuffy, but instead of being clear and loose

(easy to blow out) it is now yellow and thick and I have to pull it

out with a bulb (when she blows nothing comes out).

She sleeps fine, but breathes through her nose loudly. When she wakes

in the morning, she has to cough a bunch of stuff up and then she

coughs only a few times during the day.

I am taking her back to the doctor today since the holidays are coming

up and I don't want this getting worse. I know they are going to

prescribe another round of some different antibiotic probably because

she has a sinus infection. I did tell them on the phone that I want

them to do a culture so they can make a more informed choice of Rx.

Is there ANY chance of getting a sinus infections go away its own??

I read that you can be on antibiotics for weeks and you are lucky if

they get the right one that works. I AM SICK just thinking about her

being on more meds.

I am trying colloidal silver in her nose and I am, of course, doing

nasal washes, saline, hot showers twice a day. PLEASE HELP!!

Happy Holidays,

Caroline
