Guest guest
Well girls, for all of you who are my dear friends, I wanted to just share my excitement, about my nursing career! YIPPY I have made a decision to put it on the fast track! I am stoked. Instead of drilling away at Idaho State, I am signed up for the Eastern Idaho Technical school, and can get my LPN(licensed practical nurse) exactly one year, from the date that I start the program. Of course before I can start the program I have about 6 classes of pre requisites to complete, I can skip the nursing assistant course, by testing out, and the rest will be pretty easy, with my background, except anat and physiology, the program is a fast way to be a real nurse, and they are going to start an RN program in about 4 years, so by that time I can advance should I chose. I am so excited I pray it all works out. I really have a good vibe about it. I want to use my nursing to help people, and in the process of that I want to use my knowledge to educate more and more women about the risks of surgery, particularly plastic surgery. In a common sense sort of way. I feel this is the path I am supposed to be on. So anyhow I just had to share my news, please keep me in your prayers that this will all work out, it feels right this time! I take my CNA test on the 4th of June, and that will allow me to start doing more work with patients on the floor as well as my secretary duties. I was kind of bummed out to find that CNA's make less than Unit secretary's but of course they won't pay me less to do that job, just not anymore, my manager explained that as a secretary you really have to know allot more, and I guess she is correct in that sense. My medical terminolgoy and drug and doseage knowlegde is really advanced since being a unit secretary, but being a CNA can be a dirty job at times, however it can be fun too, helping people and making them feel better esp when they just need some TLC. I really love my job. I cannot wait to get going on this path. It has been something I have wanted to do for so long now but the time and money situation and then my health, never allowed it. Finally I see the light at the end of the tunnell! it has been a long hard road. hugs and love to all my sisters here, may you all someday be healed and get back to, or begin new, something that you really love to do, weather it be at home or a career. hugs -
