Guest guest
thanks for all the info. I went through something just like that after my son was born - when he was a baby I was crazy - I wouldn't sleep at night as I would worry that he would quit breathing. I also didn't want to leave him w/ anyone other than my mom & hubby and that didn't even happen fro months. I wouldn't take a shower w/out him wheeled in there in his little cradle. luckily I got over that but it sure was horrible. I feel so weird now - some days I feel a little better and am in a positive mood and others, like the last few days, I just sit around and cry. Maybe i am bipolar or something - I just think it is the stress over being ill and having problems w/ my disability crap. the last thing i need while sick is to worry about money. hopefully the appt I have tomorrow may shed some light on my depression and help me get over it. I hope they give me something for anxiety as now my worrying is ruining what little sleep i do get. thanks for all your info and sharing your postpartum story - it sounded soo familiar... love shari
Guest guest
I doubt you are bi-polar. My sister in law is, and whew, do we have stories to tell on that! One year she wrote a ton of bad checks, thousands of dollars worth, and when she got arrested was just so confused because she told the office, " I wrote checks to cover everything; what's the problem? " (She had no money in her account). Anyway, she won't take her meds so she goes up and down all the time. I think you are just stressed and rightly so. This illness definitely takes it toll! It's hardly recognized, so you get the criticism of the medical community. It wouldn't take much more to drive me to a depression. Plus you have an active toddler. I can relate to that one!! And you feel like crap, pardon the bluntness there. Do you have any support? Church group, etc? I think a therapist can be beneficial, at least they will listen to you. Let me know how your visit goes. ps, I tool Prozac for awhile and while it works great for some people, I felt very detached and still sad! I decided to work on an alternate plan and that one worked for me. You may want to try another medication, there are so many of them now. Or you can try natural alternatives, whichever works. We care for you and want you to get better. ps, an interesting side note, some time later I tried to get back on Prozac when I had a flare up and ended up being allergic to it. This is supposedly a rare occurance. Unfortunately I had developed a rare intollerance to all the SSRIs. Inositol turned out to be great for me, plus I recently found it it helps remove silicone from the body. Hugs, Beth > thanks for all the info.
