Guest guest
Surgery must be paid in advance--that is a fact of life. The no-- refund-- policy-- if-- I --change-- my-- mind-- is what I have a problem with. Most any docs, you cancel within 24 hours and their's no charge. In the world of PS, docs should understand that this will happen from time to time. They should suck it up. If I were a doc, I'd MUCH RATHER have an unsure patient cancel, than to wheel them into the OR filled with doubts(and pressure), that can set the stage for disaster if the patient in not so pleased with the outcome. I would not want the liability, no 1,500 would be worth that especially the good money PS's make. I'd rather have the patient leave happy, after all, happy patients bring you more new patients, new patients translate into $$$$$. As the daughter of a international businessman, this no refund policy is bad business.Vickie <gracie17db@...> wrote: other doctors also charge $1500.00 non refundable deposit as well!!!! Guest guest
I agree, its wrong. at least if the other ps's want a deposit, they could have instead of a no refund policy, perhaps, some rules. like, If you elect out, and do so at least say 14 days prior to date- maybe, you can be refunded the entirty. That way the doc doesnt lose her "alloted time" and $$$$, can have the time to refill it, and the patient isnt screwed. I mean come on, be fair >From: Jane Doe <oceanlilly_csu@...> >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Feng Patient---surgery is paid in advance >Date: Sat, 29 May 2004 16:59:33 -0700 (PDT) > >Surgery must be paid in advance--that is a fact of life. Guest guest
: I understand that most Drs. want money up front and I am fine with that. What upset me was that when I spoke with on the phone to make an appt for a consultation she said she needed a credit card number for the deposit for surgery and I said well what if I dont like her and want it done by someone else can I get my money back and she said no it was non refundable. That is crap!!! and the main reason I didnt go to her. I paid my co-pay for consult with Dr, Kolb and she verified my insurance and they paid a portion of it for the reduction and I paid the rest. Even after I paid my part, I had a statement in writing from her office that if I canceled the appt within 24 hours I received a full refund, if under 24 hours I paid $320.00 for the OR fee. That I could live with since I got to meet her first and tour the office before I had to pay anything. I dont care how good someone is or how busy, it is not right to take money and keep it for a service you did not perform!
