Guest guest
To anyone who questions God...that includes me. I question Him all the time. Why? Why me? Why do I have to suffer? I believe in Him, so why should I have to go through what I have? I want the answers. Did you know that it's ok to question God? I didn't until just recently. I found out that He's been questioned by the best of them. King , Moses, Job...for instance. These were all great men of God. It's ok to be honest and to express your feelings to God. Just read the book of Psalms. According to Rick Warren, author of " The Purpose Driven Life " , " It's full of ranting, raving, doubts, fears, resentments, and deep passions combined with thanksgiving, praise, and statements of faith. Every possible emotion is catalogued in the Psalms. " Most of the Psalms were written by King . " A man after God's own heart. " Yet he told God how he felt - bad or good - all the time! It's ok to doubt, fear, wonder, question, to be angry and especially to be honest. God can handle it! He uses everything for good in our lives, but when we harbor resentment toward Him, it keeps us from having a relationship with Him. He doesn't use problems to punish us, but to wake us up. He uses them to bring us closer to Him. If we never had a problem, we would never need God. It's in our problems that we seek Him out. If you truly want to know Him, who He is, where He is, ask Him. Tell Him you're mad at Him, tell Him you don't understand, tell Him your mind can't comprehend where He came from, He will help you. We will never truly understand God, if we did, He wouldn't be God! I believe without a doubt that one day I will meet Him. And when I see Him and His precious Son, Jesus, who gave His life for me, it will all be worth it. There will be no more tears or pain or sorrow. I will have a perfect body and will never have to suffer again! I can't imagine going through this illness without my relationship with God. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for Him. I'm so thankful that He wants to have a relationship with me with all my faults. Sorry for preaching, I couldn't help myself...I just had to tell you all that God loves you and He's there for you no matter what! Guest guest
Pam, That was wonderful! On the same subject I would like to recommend two books by a woman named Joni Eareckson Tada. She was involved in a diving accident when she was a teenager and is a parapalegic. Her faith is ASTOUNDING! She has a way of putting our suffering into perspective. " When God Weeps: Why Our Sufferings Matter to the Almighty " and " A Step Further: Growing Closer to God Through Hurt and Hardship " Her website is www.joniandfriends.org Thanks for the inspiration Pam!!!
