Well, I have to add my experience. Being self pay just sucks big

time and you just never know if you're going to have a good

experience, even with a great surgeon. I used Dr K and she was

awesome. I put down $100 to hold the surgery suite. I paid for my

surgery a week in advance, $6,200. I had the surgery and went over

by 1 hour. I was billed about $450 for going over, not billed for

Dr K's time. Paid that. I was then billed two weeks later for some

lab fees I never could figure out what they were for. They wanted

payment within a week. The lady I spoke with had a severe cold. I

finally said, ok, is this the end of it? Am I done? Anyway, it was

around $350 and I just paid it. So I spent a total of about $7,000

on that surgery. Ouch... But do I feel like I was in the best

hands? Absolutely. I guess that's what matters in the end. I

think about my surgery going 4 hours in her experienced hands. What

would have happened to me if I had gone with an inexperienced

surgeon? I guess everyone has to go with the person they feel will

take care of them.
