This issue leads to many dilemmas (Dharma Sankata) This issue is not a zero sum game with absolute black and white outcomes. There will always be some unwanted side effects. Even the Gods when they churned the oceans, had to deal with the poison (visha) first, before they could get hands on the Amrutha. I am reminded of a Infectious Diseases Consultant with whom I worked during training. He would always say. As doctors our duty is to " SAVE THE PATIENT NOT THE DRUG " I understand this another extreme position. But I mention it here in the hope that it may help us all to put things in the right perspective.
