Guest guest
, I remember when I was a child my feet would burn. I never really told anyone about the burning, but the callouse's were horrible. I can bend my ankles somewhat. I have an elevated board I use to stretch the tendons. Because I can't really bend my ankles I can't get down on my hands and knees to clean my bathtubs, etc. My husband is a God send, he helps me in every way with the house. I no longer drive, because there is virtually no feeling in the bottoms of my feet and occasionally I will get a sharp pain in one of my feet and that sends me to " the Moon " for a few seconds. Doesn't happen often, but often enough. My feet look so horrible because of the surgeries I wouldn't want a pedicure, the technition would run away screaming. How long have you had CMT? I was diagnosed in 1997. I remember when I was a kid one of my uncles had feet problems, as well as a cousin. Back then no one knew what CMT was. Good old white vinegar. I used to use it to rinse my hair. Talk about squeeky clean !
Guest guest
, To answer the questions about how long I've had it . . . all my life. How long I've known, different story. ; ) My mom was adopted so we didn't know any history. She had a lot of foot problems that were attributed to other things. Although she took me to a bunch of doctors for the way I walked, none of them said anything but it was all in my head. The podiatrist I mentioned before suggested the CMT to me in 1999. I was officially diagnosed by the blood test through the MDA clinic in 2001. Just a little FYI . . . I took those postings about ascorbic acid to my herbalist today. He tested me with a few different vitamin C things. One tested huge and I'm beginning taking them tonight. Why wait . . . it tested that I was deficient and that it would be of strong benefit to me so we will see. I'll keep you all posted.
Guest guest
Burning Feet yup -- I had 'em! thought I had athlete's foot--2 months later, my right foot got a big numb spot in the arch--that's how I got diagnosed. As my feet got more numb, the burning stopped. Now that my feeling is coming back, on LDN, I've had a bit of burning again, from time to time but it goes away in a few hours or a day. daphne
