Guest guest
That's very true. For $39 a month I could be going to the new gym. They have a ladies corner, and the sauna will be new. That's why I've been debating over this. I could go at lunch on my telecommute days. If I try to purchase equipment, the payments would be close to the gym price. I'm definitely going to start using the Life Cycle at work, and see how I stick with it. thanks, Beth > One thought. Guest guest
Beth, I was a very dedicated weight lifter and gym rat for the last 3 years so I was already pretty buffed before i got my bowflex. I have not seen any loss in my buffed bod, in fact I would say I am even more buffed, I have lost some body fat I am sure though I still weigh in around 119-120 right now, I know muscle is why I don't see much change on the scale. I use the bowflex at least 3-4 times a week, I am an extreme work out person, so my results may not be everyones results, because I do only two to 3 body parts at a time for an hour each session usually like chest, shoulders one day, back and biceps and triceps one day, legs one day etc, I spend a good 45-60 minutes on this and then do cardio, for between 35-60 minutes 4-5 times a week so yeah I think the bowflex is def keeping me as buffed or more so than the free wieghts and gym equiptment. I think it is more about dedication to it and time spent rather than what your doing where. I mean I know men all say free weights blah blah blah, but I still think with the bowflex at least for the female form it is ideal and will get the look you want without the hassle of the free weights and other stuff at the gym. Again, it is more about if you will do it when you have it at home, some people just cannot seem to work out at home, don't know why cause to me it is easier and way better but I have always been a work out alone better person than allot of people, some people have to have people around to inspire them, I don't. Everyone is so different in that way. I like to do my own thing and do it when I want to even if it is at 4 in the morning or 10 at night, I work out and feel good for it. so in the end I think if your dedicated to it and are going to devote the time to it this will be great. Life cycles are ok, they are not the best of cardio workouts, but it will do esp since your skinny and your main focus will be adding muscle, i think. I know you also want to sweat, but hey you can sweat with a bowflex and you can also do circuit training with anything, even video's or jumping or dancing in between weight training reps. You can get really creative with working out on a budget I know, cause in CA when I was single I had NO MONEY and no equiptment and no gym, but I had a bike and good weather and dumbells and I was fit then too. I admit I am leaner now, but that is because I put in more time, not necessarily because of the equiptment. again it is all about dedication and desire and consistency, not so much about the equiptment. That is just my own personal opinnion, for whatever that is worth. Have I sent you my work out posing pics? I think I may have removed them from this site, you can check if they are still in the photos section, if not I can send them to you. I felt silly having them here so I may have removed them but I did it to show people that even after being ill you can overcome and get a buffed body. also that crap about getting too big is mostly bull it is hard for a woman to get too big from weights without being on some kind of steroid. Trust me I know this for a fact, few women have that genetic make up that you see on TV in body buiding competitions. ok then girlie I have rambled on enough I think hugs C In , " bethlakey " <bethlakey@y...> wrote: > ok, I am torn and I keept going back and forth on this issue.
