Mumbai: Invitation for National Consultation with NHRC on ‘Right to Health Care’

Dear Friends,

We invite you and your friends and colleagues to attend the 5th and 6th

September events of a National Workshop and National Public Consultation

respectively on ‘Right to Health Care’ organised by the Jan Swasthya

Abhiyan, at Retreat House, Bandra, Mumbai. The formal invitation to

these events is enclosed, herewith.

This is a part of the ‘Right to Health Care’ campaign launched by the

Jan Swasthya Abhiyan. An important part of the campaign is to document

cases of denial of health care resulting in loss of life, disability,

chronic illness- mental or physical and monetary losses. These cases

will be presented to Justice Dr. Anand, the chairperson of the National

Human Right’s Commission, on 6th September. He and various government

functionaries attending the event will respond to these cases. The case

documentations will continue beyond the 6th September event. We are

enclosing a protocol and questionnaire to document cases of denial of

health care. You all are requested to document such cases occurring in

the community where you work, or with whom you are in contact with.
