Ionized water VS reverse osmosis water

We just had our RO system removed after using it for several years and just

got an ionizer. RO water is acidic and actually leaches water out our bodies

as it tries to get back into balance of having some minerals in it. My body

has turned much more acidic since we have had our RO system. We just had our

ionizer installed yesterday and I already have a headache from its

detoxifying affects. There are 4 setting and I insisted on putting the

ionizer on the highest setting, but now I may turn it down a bit so my body

detoxifies slower so I don't feel icky. The PH of our ionized water is 9.2

and the ph of or RO water was about 6.1 and the tap water was about 6.9.

That other reading that measures antioxidant levels (ORP value?) put our new

water at a -377 (negative is good - negative ions come from raw veges). Our

tap water was +350! The ionizer attaches ions to all of the molecules in the

water and then filters away the ones with positive ions attached to it

(fluoride, chlorine and the other stuff you don't want). That's why if you

use an ionizer on purified water such as RO water or distilled water that

has NOTHING in it, an ionizer will do nothing to that water. When drinking

ionized water you are constantly flooding your body with minerals and

antioxidants (the negative ions?) and drinking very alkaline water. I can't

tell you if or how it's helped me so far since we have had it for less than

a day, but I can't understand how this water could possibly be bad for you.

It is expensive though. We paid $1600 for an under counter model.

Subject: Re: Thyroid Issues

I have looked at a an R/O system that is round $500 - $600. It is

suppose to remove 95% of the flouride. It is a bit pricey, but I

will do it if I think it is necessary. That is what I am trying to

figure out. The one thing that concerns me with R/O water is the

fact that is is depleted of minerals. I understand that it has an

acidifying effect on the body which is not good. I suppose that we

can do some things to compensate for that, but most of us are already

too acidic anyway. ...definitely a concern.

Another drinking water option that interests me is one that

supposedly alkalinizes the water. I forget, but maybe they are

called " ionized " water systems. I know that they are a bit

controversial. Some do not believe that they provide the benefits as

advertized. Most are >$1000.

I appreciate any thoughts on the R/O option and the ionized water

option.

Thanks.
