Guest guest
Epsom Salt is a good laxative for stimulating the GB and moving stones. Better than anything else for the GB cleanses. I like to add the juice of a lemon to buffer the taste and the lemon is also good for the stones removal too. > > Recently I had tried Cascara sagrada bark to move bile to colon. Guest guest
None of the herbs mentioned create obstructions of esophagus, intestines and colon. Nor does psyllium cause haital hernias anymore than eating dinner would " cause " gerd. One might experience acid reflux after eating psyllium but it would be because of a pre existing digestive problem. Senna and cascara are not bulking fibers but contain anthraquinones which stimulate peristaltic action of the intestinal muscles and the production and flow of bile. Anyone experiencing an intestinal blockage after taking either of them would have again a pre existing severe " constipational " problem. Psyllium and other bulk fibers do not cause blockages either, anyone experiencing a blockage after eating them is again already in severely bad intestinal health and while the fiber may provide a large amount of bulk which gets stuck it is only from the pre existing dis-ease. All bitter, cold, liver herbs both stimulate the production and flow of bile and are laxative to varying degrees because of such. Other excellent ones to try would be rhubarb root (a classic) and gentian. If you need more let me know, I could list 20. The magnesium that has been discussed lately may work really well but in a different way. It sounds like you have trouble with most fibers, taking a digestive enzyme with amylases present when you eat may help a lot. The problem with citrus and olive oil as well really points to major digestive issues. I would expect your digestion to be slow and cold. Warming with things like ginger, cardamon, an ayurvedic formula called trikatu might give you not only a lot of relief but enhance the digestive process. There are a couple of chinese herbs that are quite specific for this; atractylodes and sassaurea. they are what is known as " spleen chi tonics " . In the Chinese model " spleen " (which is different from just the organ) is the " governor of all digestion " . Suffice to say that you may be able to pick up a Chinese formula based on one of the two that might change your life. Literally. Guest guest
Dave, thank you so much for you time and advices. I will try gentian and rhubarb. I have red that gentian is toxic for some reason but probably in big quatities. But I already ordered it and I am going to try. I have already tried Barberry for 10 days bc I have red it helps for GB too as well for Candida and H Pylori. I also have Yellow Dock but the problem that I can¡¯t tolerate bitter herbs for a long time. I can take them occasionally only. You are right I tend to be cold very fast. But my body type is mixed according to Ayurveda and I can¡¯t tolerate hot herbs too. All stimulants and tonics make me sick more that ever before. No spices I can take even mild. I know I have slow motility but nobody said I have any structures in esophagus and intestines. Even Haital hernia is so small now that nobody take it to account. I wasn¡¯t constipated when I was taking laxatives too but I wanted to move bile according my book on Ayurveda. When i take herbes that moving bile it goes to stomach and cause reflux to me. So I tried laxative as option to GB stimulants.Magnesium caused spasm in my leg and esophagus too though it is recommended for GERD. It would be really great if you post whole list that we can try one by one. I think many people here will benefit from it. If you sell herbs I can buy from you. I can¡¯t tolerate Ayurveda herbs and mixes usually but I can try Chinese. Liz > > None of the herbs mentioned create obstructions of esophagus, intestines and colon. Guest guest
Hi Liz, I now know who you are. Email me off list and I may be able to help you through this. Your constitution is a blessing as well as a burden. Hear that deep. Chinese herbs will whack you out too until the constitution is under control. The atractylodes or sausarea that I mentioned may be the ticket in the right formula for the digestive issues. Your vata aspects will not tolerate extremes whether hot or cold. Whenever you use an herb that is known for this or that, it will need to be companioned with a balancing energetic to be tolerable. Not easy but possible. Always, in all ways, Dave gallstones@...: imsinfo@...: Fri, 23 May 2008 21:05:07 +0000Subject: Re: Laxatives for GB Dave, thank you so much for you time and advices. I will try gentian and rhubarb.
