Guest guest
Pruritus is a complication of chronic liver disease. It is most commonly experienced by patients with liver disease characterized by cholestasis. In cases of extrahepatic biliary obstruction, biliary drainage is usually effective in eliminating pruritus. In cases of intrahepatic cholestasis in which definitive therapy is not possible, several measures can be attempted to relieve bothersome pruritus. An overview of the pathogenesis and treatment of pruritus of cholestasis has been posted on: http://www.surgerysearch.blogspot.com/ Dr. Jitendra Agrawal
