Guest guest
Joanna, 5 mg. at a time???!! They did that to me and I was so sick I wanted to die. I don't know about you but since I was down to 15mg a day I haven't been able to decrease anymore than 2.5 at a time and usually with 2 wks of alternating prior to. Like now I'm doing 5mg. one day and 2.5 the next. It's been 2 wks. today and I'm not ready to do the 2.5 every day. Of course, getting the crud may have some to do with that. I'm not sure that the predinsone drop didn't have something to do with that to. I'm extremely sensitive to the sh*t!! Listen to your body. It will tell you what you can and can't do. Thanks for the hugs :?) Debbie/FL > Hi all, > > Some of you may remember that the GI has been lowering my prednisone > by 5mg every 4 weeks. Guest guest
are you drinking apple cider vinegar? Dr. Visit Today I went to the doctor today after receiving news that my ultrasound was clear of stones. The doctor doesn't think my problem is related to the gall bladder but I'm still not convinced. He thinks I have GERD or a hiatal hernal. Does either of these cause pressure in the same general area as the gall bladder and pain under the right shoulder blade. He wants to do a Upper GI with contrast and wants me to try small means and cut out diary.

Guest guest
because it seems to help with digestion and when people mention GERD I think personally through my experience that Apple Cider Vinegar seems to help eliminate it. I take it straight out of the bottle from Trader Joe. A spoonful or two a week. I cook with it. I really enjoy it. Jay Re: Dr. Visit Today Jay , do you drink apple cider vinegar? and why? Guest guest
Your pain in the gallbladder and right shoulder blade area is classic liver/gallbladder. This goofball does not know what he is doing, just grasping at straws now. This is diagnosis by the process of elimination. Nothing shows up on the gallbladder scan so it must be " this or that " . Very dangerous to now attempt treatment for " something else " . If they put you on PPIs for GERD you most likely will get screwed up worse. Find someone who will make a positive diagnosis before attempting treatment. You felt better after your first flush to some extent. Maybe try lots of liver gallbladder therapy not only flushes. It takes 40 years to get to this position, we cannot expect to have a one flush miracle cure. Discomfort is sometimes the motivator to make real lasting change.Dave gallstones@...: heatherkay08@...: Thu, 17 Jul 2008 14:30:25 -0400Subject: Dr. Visit Today I went to the doctor today after receiving news that my ultrasound was clear of stones. Guest guest
I was prescribed antacids for the pain. I stopped taking them when I researched that it causes cancer. I was being treated for ulcers but later found out that it was gallstones. Guest guest
I have been when I feel the pressure coming on again. The doctor is doing a test where they watch me swollow some type liquid and take pictures. Will this show GERD and/or a heital hernea? I am feeling much better today. He pushed and pressed on the area where my gall bladder is and said that I would probably be at least somewhat sore there if the gall bladder was my problem. Does this sound accurate? Guest guest
Why don't you just do these things anyway? I would NOT wait for a diagnosis before starting these healthy habits. Your doctor sounds like an idiot anyway. I've had two ultrasounds, an x-ray, and HIDA scan and they NEVER found stones. I did a flush and NO STONES. I have ZERO function in the gall bladder. I changed my eating habits and have had no problem for a year now. Had I required stones to be present before I would accept it was my gall bladder, I would have sent thousands of dollars in tests down the drain and probably be on some sort of medication for something I didn't even have. Save your money and change your habits. Evie --- In gallstones , " Kay " <heatherkay08@...> wrote: > > What other tests can be done to confirm it is my gall bladder or rule out other things? Guest guest
, I've had/have both and they are somewhat different, but not a lot. If they gave you a gastric cocktail of antacids and your pain stopped almost immediately, it was probably GERD. I'd get it if I ate late in the evening (especially ice cream) before bed. When it wasn't the GERD feeling like a heart attack right around the sternum, it was acid reflux waking me at night running for bathroom. That was straightened out by changes in eating habits and over the counter meds. The gallbladder just happened last week and took a trip to ER and CT Scan to prove it wasn't kidney stones. The pain came after meals and was right below the right side ribs in upper abdomen. That's considerably lower and to the right from the irritated esophagus. All this stuff ties back to Rheumatoid Arthritis and the NSAIDS and Steroids I've taken for 25 years. That stuff flared up real bad with the gallbladder, too. I had " cabbage patch " hands, like the dolls. After flushing my liver/gallbladder the vicious pain was gone, like magic. BUT it may have just moved. Now I've got a low grade fever and pain in the right collarbone area, weird. At least I can sleep. I sound like a nut, but it's all true. My Doc actually gives me a hard time for not going soon enough and just showing up when I'm totally messed up. If you've had bouts of waking up choking on stomach acid don't discount the GERD especially if you eat spicy foods. Good Luck Dr. Visit Today I went to the doctor today after receiving news that my ultrasound was clear of stones. Guest guest
It could . Can you switch from coffee to warm water with lemon and raw honey? Maybe a herbal digestive tea instead? Also have you tried using Malic acid pills to begin dissolving sluggish bile? Its part of the prep for the gb flush. I take 3 pills every two hours for 3 to 5 days before the flush. Last night after only 2 days of taking malic acid I could actually feel a draining from inside my liver down into the duodenum! First time I ever felt this. Malic acid is great to use whenever symptoms seem bad as well. I take Myalgia-x which is magnesium (which you need anyways) and malic acid together. Guest guest
Pain usually accompanies gb dysfunction but not always. I'm another that does not have pain but has lots of gb issues and stones. I'm feeling better after flush number 4. You can read my last post which gives details.... btw the barrium scan may show a hernea if its bad enough. Some hernia's dont show up on a scan until solid foods are eaten and contractions happen. They will tell you that the barrium liquid is close enough to food but its not. Its not a solid. They are better to just do a scope on you that way they can more accurately diagnose these things. Brad > > I have been when I feel the pressure coming on again. Guest guest
Dave - IMO your body is not producing enough acid and they give you pills to lower the existing level of acid - so I propose a test - when you are feeling the supposed acid developed bad feelings - take a spoonful of Apple Cider Vinegar and see if your feeling of discomfort decreases. Guest guest
If I fall and break my arm, I want a doctor to repair it. I don't want my mechanic to repair it. I don't want to do it myself. I want my doctor to do it. Period. But as each day passes, I am more and more sceptical of doctors and medicine. I have had multiple health issues that were not diagnosed or incorrectly diagnosed and therefore not treated and or incorrectly treated. I have taken medicines that I shouldn't have taken and had surgeries that I should not have had. I have had health problems that should have been resolved years ago. And I have had health problems created by modern medicine (e.g. mercury) Doctors treat symptoms not disease. And many times, they don't do a good job of that! And the multi-billion dollar pharmecutical companies, enough said... But the good news for me is that one by one, I am resolving my health issues, thanks in large part to the wonderful people on the support forums such as this one. The vast majority of my health issues are being resolved on my own. And I know that I am not alone in this regard. > >> > I have been when I feel the pressure coming on again.
