Guest guest
It is probably doing it's job, but the aching is from the dysfunction. Make sure you are getting plenty of cold pressed oils and water to make sure you have the medium for manufacturing bile. Dave gallstones@...: Mom2SavNSyd@...: Fri, 23 May 2008 16:03:16 -0400Subject: Milk Thistle Everyone says Milk Thistle is good for your Gallbladder. But when I took Milk Thistle from walmart *yes I know not the best choice* it made my gallbladder ache more. I thought it was supposed to help? Would taking a better quality milk thistle help? Guest guest
what is cold pressed oil and fats mean?
Guest guest
Oils and fats are essential to liver and gallbladder health. Bile is a mixture of aqueos and lipid constituents (plus bile acids and bilirubin as well as filtered waste products). you cannot make bile without the oils/fats. Now this can come from fats in the body as in weight loss but you still need thinner more fluid lipids. The whole fats/oils discussion is about quality not quantitiy. Cold pressed oils that have not been heated or altered are some of the important ones. Olive, sunflower, safflower, walnut, apricot kernel, avocado, sesame, coconut, etc. Notice I did not list canola. High heated fats, hydrogenated, etc.= death. Butter and lard from organic sources are ok. Ghee is even better. " Good Fats, Bad Fats " is a great primer. The guru is Udo Erasmus (sp?). you can get a blend that he put together at the health food store called Udo's oil, but the most important thing is to read his or other good books and get educated.Dave gallstones@...: admilby@...: Fri, 23 May 2008 17:15:04 -0700Subject: RE: Milk Thistle what is cold pressed oil and fats mean? _________________________________________________________________ Give to a good cause with every e-mail. Guest guest
I've started on Liveraide Silymarin Capsules to eliminate the fatty infiltration of my liver. This supplement is based on milk thistle. I'm hoping that I could improve my liver's health with this supplement plus a change of diet to fruits and veggies. Guest guest
I am not a doctor so please take my post with a grain of salt... or rather with ton of salt. I observed that milk thistle in Europe is nuch more expensive than in USA and asked pharmacist if he has any US brand milk thistle. He said he does not have any but he knows exactly why US products are less expensive. He says that they do not contain enough active ingredients to have any effect on liver. I compared the most popular GNC products http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp? productId=2539691 & cp=2271690 & sr=1 & origkw=milk+thistle & parentPage=famil y Milk Thistle Seed Extract (Silybum marianum)(80% Silymarin = 160mg vs German product 600mg I am using now this product Silymarin 720 mg: http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Item00702/Mega-Silymarin-with- Isosilybin-B.html
Guest guest
So sorry to inform all of my Brethren in America, but the reason for the difference in price is unfortunately a bit different... It is called Codex... Have not heard of it? Ask your legislator... Codex is in full force in Eu. Our lovely elected officialdom bought and sold us to it in 2005. Coming to a country near you... This is a well planned and engineered attempt (successful I might add) to control all natural means of health maintenance. While in Germany last year, the land of natural alternatives in " medicine " , having many people in need of this type of care, I was appalled to find out that none was available! Codex Alimentus.... See it... Read it... Just try and digest it... Think your gallbladder is giving you fits now? Try and digest this... It has already been done to you... Codex, sold to you as a means of making sure that the natural products industry is safe for you as determined by big Daddy government, is nothing more than a ring in your nose... Where is your wallet?... Let me see... Always, in all ways, -Dave Re: Milk Thistle I am not a doctor so please take my post with a grain of salt... or rather with ton of salt. Guest guest
I take this: http://products.usana.com/en/products/us/optomizers/hepasil.shtml Remember also that it doesn't matter how much is in what you're taking if the pills don't break down. The supplements I take are highly bio- available and I trust in the products the company provides.
