It is true and it is a " scare tactic " from Drs. It is extremely rare. It

requires the restriction of bloodflow until the gangrene sets in. Even if you

have stones and a low functioning gallbladder it would be very rare. this idea

that if the gallbladder is only functioning at let us say 15% that it should be

removed is like saying that if your horse gets ill with something that he can

recover from but is unable to work the field that he should be euthanized

because he isn't functioning properly. Sorry about the sick analogy but

removing an organ willy nilly is probably pretty sick too.Dave

I read something from someone yesterday that said the Gallbladder can get gang

green from being diseased. Is this true? Or is this a scare tactic from dr's?

Any thoughts? Thanks**************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL

I have spoken in depth over the past fifteen years to three surgeons

regarding my gallbladder issues, one in Ireland, and two in Canada. None of

them used any 'scare tactics', in fact quite the opposite. It was myself

who asked, " What are the chances of the gallbladder getting cancerous " , the

answer 'Only in 1% of cases " . It was myself who asked, " Doctor, what would

you do in my position? " , answer, " , I would try to live with it a little

longer and see if settles down " .

Have I just been lucky?
