Guest guest
Slow down is the advice you need to take to heart immediately. There is no need to rush to surgery until you ascertain what is causing u the pain. However, there is one thing that puzzles me, since the doctor told you that the pain is not in the typical place for gall stones then why would you want to have the surgery in the first place? You sound like u are in a panic - so take a deep breath and try to think this thru. As far as time is concerned lets not forget you are in control of your well being and you have plenty of time. If I were you I would cancel the surgery & seek a second opinion. You should be extremely leery of a doctor who wants to perform surgery with no guarantees that the surgery will take care of the pain. Awful to hear this doctor tell you this. These tablets , AF Beta Food by the company, Standard Process will take away most pain associated with gallbladder. You will also find that this group will help you better understand your GB and provide you with alternative ways. I am scheduled for gallbladder surgery tomorrow morning! I have back pain but no other symptoms. The surgeon saw the gallstones and said that my pain is not in a typical place for gallstones, but since I have them I should still have my gallbladder out. She actually said " I can't guarantee that this surgery will help your back pain! " . I'd like to keep my gallbladder, but am afraid that flushing might just make it worse by moving gallstones around and plugging the ports. Have any of you on this board had symptoms go away after a flush? Have any of you had to have surgery because a stone blocked a port? Has anyone heard about the new procedure at Mayo Clinic where they are disolving the gallstones? Thanks for your help. If I had more time I'm sure I could have searched through this board. It kind of amazes me how people take surgery so lightly and seem to think that all those people with complications after gall bladder surgery are 'rare'. Guest guest
A few things, - my 2 cents. You can take with grains of salt. 1. First - not all gallstones display the classic symptoms of pain on right side. You MAY get atypical symptons from gallstones. 2. Gallstones may cause inflammation to pancreas and that may cause pain on the non-typical sides. 3. The medical (MD) community empirically says that you may have gallstones and can live with them for a long time without symptoms. But, once you get some symptoms and pain - you are bound to have attacks later on (sooner or later). Therefore, do you live with them that long or take the corrective action. 4. Nothing wrong with flush or natural things. But, there is a time and place for everything. One needs to start on these at a young age and keep on the regimen consistently. 5. Penicillin, amputations, vaccinations etc. are not naturals remedies or cures. But, they are necessary blessings or 'evil'. One needs to use the judgement when to use the natural or surgical cure? 6. I had gallstones, GERD for 2 years. Survived 4/5 gall bladder attacks. Took off the bladder and fully cured of all remedies. The blessing from teh surgery is that I am conscious of what I eat - eat good stuff. But, a relative of mine - waited and ultimately has got severe pancreatities. That convinced me to take the gb out. Good luck to all of you. Everyone is intelligent to use their own judgement and suffer the consequences. No one else will be sharing the joy or sorrow.. Guest guest
Unless you have acute pencreatitis or gb pain - you do not have to have surgery next day. Step back and consult a few more doctors and make the decision. Even in those cases - you would be stabilized before surgery should be scheduled. Gallstones pain do cause pain in the back side - the pain radiates. You may get some info from May Clinic doctors or site.
