Guest guest
Brad, I have a bottle of Triphala from Planetary Herbals. Here is what is written on the back of the bottle: " Planetary Herbals TRIPHALA is a potent yet gentle formula, designed to support the body's natural cleansing process. It has been one of the most important formulas of Ayurvedic herbalism for thousands of years. Triphala is a balanced blend of three Indian herbal fruits: harada, amla, and behada. This formula is unique in that the astringent qualities of the fruits serve to tonify the colon, thereby promoting internal cleaning naturally. " From: ontarioguy2334 <ontarioguy2334@...> Subject: Re: Question about flush proceedure gallstones Date: Monday, January 19, 2009, 10:34 PM Hey Elan, Thanks for the advice. My flush went well thanks. I got much better results on less oil thanks to the raw beet juice every hour for 3 days prior to actually doing the flush. Actually on this raw beet juice for the first time I could feel bile flowing after eating meals. Grumbling is happening which is something that the flushes never helped. Its the betaine in the beet juice which can detox the liver and kidney and gb stones. Amazing stuff! I only juice about 3 or 4 beets in the morning and take about 1/2 a mouthfull every hour. So this flush my body told me to stop drinking the olive oil and grapefruit juice when I was half way through. So I only ended up drinking about 1/2 a cup of olive oil and 1/2 a cup of grapefruit. I passed probably 60 stones some an inch in size. Probably going to start the chanca peidra and R7 soon. Has anyone ever heard of Triphala? Its an ayervedic (sp?) herbal combo including the Chanca Peidra. Brad > > > > Am I reading the protocol right? Guest guest
Triphala is " The three fruits " The most common ayurvedic names are Amalaki, bibitaki, and haritaki. There is no chancha piedra. Amla (amalaki) is phyllanthus embelica, and bhumy amalaki (chancha piedra) is phyllanthus niruri. Closely related but different. Triphala is one of the premier tonics in ayuveda. It is mildly laxative, bile stimulating, detoxifying, tissue healing, and cell protective. Spectacular as an everyday tonic. Typical dose is between 4-12 00 caps per day, depending on use and need. -D Re: Question about flush proceedure gallstones <mailto:gallstones%40> Date: Monday, January 19, 2009, 10:34 PM Hey Elan, Thanks for the advice. Guest guest
hello Guys, Just to let you know that yesterday i did another ultrasound as i went through a lot of pain at night and i ended up in ER. Ultrsound shows no improvement, my gallstones are still the same in size after using Chanca Piedra for almost 6 weeks besides other supplements. My pain is getting unbearable and seems like no herb is working. I have even tried the homeopathic stuff but all is temporary relief. Finally i have booked appointment with my surgeon on 6th of Feb and i am going to remove my gall bladder because it causing inflamation of my pancreas and if i get pacreatitis then i shall be playing with my life. So why take the risk using some herbs which do not help at all. Wish me luck! Guest guest
Brad, At this time, I honestly can't give you any useful feeback in terms of whether you'd be better off taking the Triphala or just the chanca piedra, based on my knowledge of and/or experience with the herbs. I've never taken chanca piedra, and my knowledge is limited to what's been discusssed here on this Group. I've only taken the Triphala twice and didn't feel anything, but perhaps with regular use I'll begin to feel its tonifying effects. In a recent posting, Dave mentioned that the amla (phyllanthus embelica) in Triphala is different from chanca piedra (phyllanthus niruri). Perhaps someone with a bit more knowledge and/or experience can steer you in the right direction. Best of luck! From: ontarioguy2334 <ontarioguy2334@...> Subject: Re: Question about flush proceedure gallstones Date: Thursday, January 22, 2009, 6:56 AM Nice, Thanks Steve for typing all that out. Sounds like great stuff. Are you currently taking it? I read a magazine article which talked about triphala containing phyllanthus emblica. Is this the same as chanca peidra? I know both are in the phyllanthus genus. Anyways do you think i'd be better off to try the triphala or just the chanca peidra by itself. Thanks, Brad > > > > > > Am I reading the protocol right? Guest guest
Both are beneficial. The phyllanthus nururi is the traditionally used herb for liver complaints. I know that Rasheed is planning on pulling the plug, there are no wrong decisions, but 6 weeks is not enough. None of this stuff works like magic. The development of stones and the problems that result in stones takes a long time and so does the reversal. Some people flush their stones on the very first try, some on their sixth... But the biggest thing is this takes a change in diet and lifestyle for most just as it took a diet and lifestyle to create. Triphala is the kind of stuff you take everyday for the rest of your life. Amla is the " new " " superfruit " on the functional foods and supplement market though it has only been around for thousands of years. It by the way is 4 times higher in V-C than acerola cherries! and the molecular form is such that it is not broken down by cooking. Amla is also called Indian Gooseberry. The ORAC value is out the roof. More ramblings on amla and the like later. Guest guest
Best wishes and wishing you speebdy recovery. Lot of people had commented that ultrasounds are fake etc. etc. and always kept quiet. At a stage in life these stuff don't work and you ought to go for the knife else you may end up having pancreatitis. Did not go for any flush or anything - went staright for the surgery and have no regrets. Guest guest
Manuwar, I am curious about something, and yes, I wish you luck. Did you completely change your diet --- absolutely eating NO (bad) fat, no dairy, animal fat...or fried foods whatsoever? This is important for me to know to help me figure things out. Guest guest
May I ask why you are so negative about those who wish to try the naturals first? I personally would rather go natural before all else. But that is just me, If you feel the need to have your GB taken out instead of atleast giving the natural things a shot. Be my guest it is not my place to tell you no. I will atleast try to presude you to try the alterntives but it is totally your choice. Personally though I don't think 6 months is enough time for things to work. You did not get this way overnight. So it won't go away overnight. **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. Guest guest
Well, it is not about beliveing or not in the flushing , it is about following the instructions of your doctor who is an expert in flushing material and stuff. He said, probably this is not the right time. And i just did my upper GI series tests just this morning and they did an ultrasound again along with the tests. My problem is that my sysmptoms are totally different from gallstone attacks. I have pain always on my left upper stomach, which sometimes goes a litte down on lower stomach on the left. But my family doctor insists that it is all because of gallstones. I am really confused. I have booked an appointment with surgeon but i am NOT going to pull the plug until i am sure it is my gallstones causing me the problem. Hoping for the best. Guest guest
Be really careful about this. While one can have " phantom " or " transferred " pains on the left from gallstones it is usually associated with right quadrant pain as well. Guest guest
Yeah, Dave...the problem is that our doctors and our medical systems is so overloaded the diagonsing a medical problem has become a real issue...you go to emergency, they send you back to family doctor...family doctor then refers you to specialists, and specialists meet you after months of wait and your situation reaches to a level with not a lot of options....Doctors in ER are telling me that i have some problem with my colon and they said my family doctor should send me for colonscopy however, my family doctor does not agree and he insisits its gallstones......the most surprsing part is that i HAVE NO PAIN AT ALL on my right side, no nausia, no vomiting, no indigestion, no yellow eyes or any other symptom related to gallstones.......i have pain only on my left side...... let see what they find out through GI Series and then i might go for few more test....i am seeing a surgeon to make a place in the long que in case surgery becomes essential for me besides i want to get the opinion of surgeon as well...... Guest guest
My doctor is a qualified , licensed Naturopath from Canadian College of Naturoptah Medicine with years of experience in naturopath medicine and he has explained several different ways of flushing the stones. the strategy he selected for me is to dissolve the stones instead of flushing them out. He said when he is convinced that stones are decreasing in size then he can probably guide me on flushing them out. Guest guest
it sounds like u want to trust your doctor but from your letter u have questions if u should proceed. I would guess that comes from you having questions about the procedure - something has caused you to turn to alternative methods. having blind faith in doctors, in anything, can be counterproductive as it may not serve your best interests especially in today's information rich environment. unless you are in excruciating pain or have a life threatening situation you may want to continue your search to understand your ailment and not be afraid to " pull the plug " or at least postpone it for a while. Suggest you have faith in yourself and follow your instincts good luck Battaglia fbattaglia@... Guest guest
Hey Munawar, I'd like to know if you changed your diet and are following it religiously? The reason I ask is because for me, I have been able to stabilize my condition and avoid attacks by eating right and taking lecithin at meals and chanca piedra. I would like to add more stuff. Having stabilized my condition then I proceeded with doing a flush. I plan on doing this indefinitely until a noticeable change occurs. just curious. rose ________________________________ From: Munawar Rasheed <munawarr@...> gallstones Sent: Monday, January 26, 2009 2:44:34 PM Subject: Re: Re: Question about flush proceedure Yeah, as mentioned earlier, i am meeting my surgeon to make myself in the que otherwsie i will investigate it thoroughly before i go into the opeartion room.......i hope i will be able to save my gall bladder...let see On Mon, Jan 26, 2009 at 2:41 PM, Battaglia <fbattagliamac (DOT) com> wrote: > it sounds like u want to trust your doctor but from your letter u have > questions if u should proceed. Guest guest
Hi All and Manuwar, Okay, so if it may not be your gall bladder M, why have it removed. I find apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper do wonders for me. Make some big pots of veggie soup with potatoes for some carbs, lentils for protein...and add cayenne (if you like spicy)...then I also take a cayenne capsule in the am....also take a tbs. of apple cider vinegar before each meal and by all means eat every two hours....maybe parasites? take lecithin at every meal....... look into doing a long term cleanse...becometocostarica.com. my friend menlha host groups there for cleanses and juice fasts and has them for as long as four weeks at a time......amazing results.... I am feelin' for you and wish you recovery. Guest guest
You are right, rose. If it is not my gall bladder then why remove it. this is what i am telling to my family doctor but he is insisiting it is my gall bladder (with all the strange symptoms). My surgeon just called me and asked me to see him on Feb 02 instead of Feb 06. I am going there to get his opinion only, i am not going to schedule surgery obviously. I havent tried Lecithin so i will stary using lecithin as well..... I did use apple cider vinegar regularly before the meals and it was a great help......i am only worried about pain on my left if my doctor can ever give me some certified information that why i am having pain on my left......i am considering parasites as well.....and doing more research on this stuff.....cayenne, turmeric, fresh garlic and ginger is the part of our daily meal as i am from south asia so i am getting this stuff already.......i apprecaite your message, Rose. Guest guest
It does. do you have frequent constipation or gas too? If it is motility of the large intestine that is causing it, you can usually put the middle of the palm of your right hand down and over the approx. area of your appendix (cecum) and the palm of your left in the lover potion of your left groin. This sets op the " energetic " path from beginning to end of colon. -D Fw: Re: Question about flush proceedure Dave, I get some mild pain on my left side. I am not sure what is causing this. But I can relieve the pain by massaging in a circular motion my lower right abdominal area. I think someone on this forum had prescribed this remedy, but it has been awhile. If I remember correctly, the idea had something to do with the first part of the large intestine (lower right) that when massaged somehow provides relief to the " spleenic flexure " (upper left). At the time, I was thinking that the problem may have been due to my candida problem. But again, this is all a little vague. Does any of this make sense? Thanks. > > Munawar, > > Coupled with the fact that your pain is left quadrant, and this information that your discomfort is when your stomach is empty but feel better when you eat, It is most likely that your discomfort is not from gallstones, whether you have them or not. Please think long and hard before having the organ removed. Checking for gastritis and/or ulcers may be more effective. Try this for the pain: > > Place the middle of the palm of your left hand on where it hurts the most. Put the heal of your right hand above the crease in your groin on the right side, thumb over your pubic bone, fingers down the inside of your right leg. If you have damaged your right knee or right ankle at some time, use the bottom of your left foot to " bridge " the joint (part above, part below). you are acting as a jumper cable to drain the stuck energy down the right leg. If the pain goes from under your left hand but is then somewhere else, follow it with the middle of the palm of your left hand. this should alleviate your discomfort.... All the best. -D
