Guest guest
Thanks Amber, Please notice that they are only talking about chronic sinusitis. Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinal tissues, not necessarily infection. They also say most, not all. They state that they think this is due to an immunal reaction to the pressence of fungus (not allergic) since they found fungus present in 96% of the cases and eosinofils present in 96% of the cases of biopsied polyps. They also state that they figure it will be at least 2 years before a treatment is widely available. That was 1999. While they said " at least " we are now almost half way through 2008 without a breakthrough. Their assumptions were based upon the fact that they found the fungus and eosinofils present but they were not sure of the relationship. This is why they had started more research (in '99) to determine whether the relationship was cause and effect and defined this as a " potential " breakthrough. They state that acute sinusitis (shorter than 1 month) is usually due to a bacterial infection. Also if you take a look at " related stories " , in 2004 they say it is an immune issue and then in 2005 they say it is a tissue issue. This is a nasty issue. While I have never experienced gallbladder symptoms (notice I did not say problems or disease), I am the king of sinusitis. Used to bounce up and down with them for over a decade. Have been in the emergency ward with a 105 degree temperature and invasion of the mastoid. Jim Henson of muppet fame died of a sinus infection that got into the brain. I have not had more than a couple in the past 15 years. I see a dozen " sinus infection " cases a month. This is a classic issue of invader versus home turf. Is it caused by an outside invader or is it a host organism health problem. Not all maple trees are spalted. Why? Because if the immune defenses ae working properly, the invader cannot invade. A chronic sinusitis issue is an indicator of an underlying immune or enviromental problem (whether fungus is present or not. Why is the fungus present?... possibly an immune defficiency issue.). And yes, you can have re-occuring acute sinus infections (bacterial) (which are different). This is why even after a " potential breakthrough " in 1999 of the treatment of " the most common chronic disease " (37 million in a country of a little over 300 million... better than 10%...something is wrong?!*...) has lead to nothing. We all need to wake up. It is not about being victim to some microbe. It is about taking personal responcibility for our existence, keeping the machine in top working order (including our gallbladders if we still have them), living, laughing, loving, to our fullest. All the best to everyone in this group.Always, in all ways, -Dave gallstones@...: amber@...: Tue, 27 May 2008 19:22:30 -0500Subject: Here's your reference, Dave Could you reference the sourse of this?
