Guest guest
Dear All, As we all know, TB is the most common opportunistic infection in PLWHA. As there is a lot of debate going on, on providing the services for both TB & HIV under the same roof, i have an apprehension about the impact this integration of services is going to have with regards to stigma. The prevalence of HIV infection in India is under one percent while the prevalence of TB infection is much higher. If there is any misconception in general public with regards to having TB being related to having HIV, the consequences may be disatourous for AIDS & TB control programmes. In case someone has come across studies on this aspect (impact of HIV/AIDS related stigma on TB control)please be kind enough to post it.
