It does not appear to me that he is making a generalized pronouncement regarding medical procedures, merely offering a suggestion regarding the treatment of an emotional problem. I would agree with him. Why go through months of psychological treatment that may or may not work, if the problem can be effectively treated with something self-administered such as EFT, or even the proper nutritional supplements?
