If your urine is still really dark, you have yellow pale skin and whites of

your eyes are yellow and stool is clay color then i must warn you that you

are not doing good to youreself. You should immediatly go and see a

surgeon. In the meantime try i table spoon of extra virgin olive oil with

same amount of fresh lemon juice and take it on empty stomach and do the

same before going to bed. Drink A LOT of apple juice (pure juice) as much

as you can that would help soften the stone. However, i would still suggest

that you should see your surgeon ASAP and do another blood work ASAP to see

the current situation as dealing with such situation so casually is

dangerous.

I wish you all the best.

Hi , how elevated is your bilirubin? You can definitely flush stones that

are in the duct but you must also be careful. the elevated bilirubin does not

necessarily translate to stones in the duct though either. Any history of HEP?

Magnesium in quantity may relax the duct enough even before a flush. Malic acid

and lecithin might help immediately as well. Getting some cold pressed oil in

may also help to lubricate. The fact that you are not in pain is an

exceptionally good thing. You probably have much time to deal with this

naturally. If you start to turn yellow, get more concerned. Because you have

stones also does not equate into this being the main problem. Did they do a

liver panel besides the bilirubin? enzyme levels? there should be a paper copy

of the ultrasound available. Needle them till they give you one and show you

your stones and where they are. Depending on the scope of the area it may

include the common bile duct in which case you may be able to determine more.

All the best, -D

New - Stone in duct?

Hi All-

I've been following the list for a month now, but I still haven't done

the flush. I've only had one attack, last month, and was misdiagnosed

at 2 ER's until my urine was very dark. Only then was an ultrasound

suggested, where gallstones were found. I was immediately given the

name of a surgeon and directed to make an appointment.

I still haven't called the surgeon and I haven't been in pain since

that one night. My problem now is that my bilirubin (direct and total)

is still elevated. From what I've read, I'm thinking this is due to a

stone in my bile duct.

I'm trying the apple juice, the ACV...I eat a pretty decent diet.

I've been off of meat for over a year, no caffeine/sodas/partially

hydrogenated in my diet, and I'm not overweight. Can I pass a stone

that's already in the duct with the flush? I really want to exhaust

all my possibilities of healing on my own before calling the surgeon.

My doctor mentioned that the surgeon may try to go in after the stone

instead of taking out the gallbladder, but I really don't want that

either!

They were very vague about the ultrasound. I don't know how many or

the size of the stones that were seen. I would like to get more

information on that, but it's like pulling teeth getting that kind of

information out of my doctor.

Any ideas/suggestions on what to do with a stone partially blocking a

duct would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for responding Dave. A few weeks ago my bilirubin counts

were total at 2.0 (range of 0.2-1.2) and direct at 0.4 (range <-

0.2). Last month I had the complete liver panel done and my AST/ALT

numbers were off the charts (AST 158 with range of 10-30 and ALT 300

with range of 6-40!) but at my most recent test the AST/ALT numbers

have settled back into normal range (AST 19, ALT 26).

I have no history of major illness, I was diagnosed with Graves

Disease back in the 90's but have since been in remission. I also

had IBS during my college years, but that doesn't seem to bother me

much now.

I would like to get some of the lecithin as I have read the many

benefits of it on this list!

I'm definitely going to press for the ultrasound results. I

actually have an in-law who is a radiologist, but I was told they

are not permitted to look at my records. I'm going to keep pushing

on that one, because knowing the location/size of the stone(s) would

really help with my anxiety level!

I will stay tuned to the list for more great advice. Thanks!

Judging from the change in your AST/ALT results it looks like the crisis is

over. This means you probably have a lot of leeway on attempting some less

invasive means than the docs are saying. Going full tilt at your liver and bile

production even before a flush, watching carefully, might be advantageous. You

want thin weak bile in large quantities. Believe it or not, large quantities of

cold pressed oils, any of the cold draining liver herbs (because of your history

of IBS you are most likely of a " hot body " type) like chancha piedra, Buplureum,

Golden coin grass, coptis, would help. and again, lecithin, malic acid in one

form or another (apples are great if you can handle the quantity), lot's of

water, all important. If you were to choose this work on slowly an monitor your

symptoms. What kind of treatment for the Graves? If you are here in the US you

can pick up a copy of you scans anytime, no matter what they say. They may

charge you for them but if you say you are getting them for a second opinion,

they most likely will just hand them to you. These are your records. I would

probably get a bit testy if they attempted to disallow access. All the best,

Hi Dave,

You were right. I just met with my family doctor to discuss the results of

my GI series test and they found a 3mm duodenal bulb ulcer and thickened

gastric mucosa. My gallstones are probably silent so far. I have cancelled

my appointment with the surgeon. They took my blood for another test H.

Pylori bacteria kind of thing. In 2 weeks time i shall get the results.

Any input on duodenal ulcer will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Munawar

Hi Munuwar,

I am so glad to hear this. not that you are suffering but that you now

know the true cause of your discomfort and that this should be pretty easy to

deal with in comparison. almost all ulcers are caused by h pylori. This was

finally admitted by the medical community only several years ago and also only

after the Dr. Who purported it was derided and ostracized for his theory. To

prove his point he drank a slurry of h pylori, was vomiting blood a little while

later, took an antibiotic, and returned to normal. This is what it took. He

received the Nobel in medicine for this I believe 3 years ago... things that

kill h. pylori: Mastic gum (forget the ayurvedic name) has been shown in test

after test to be spectacular. Licorice root. Not only kills h pylori but is

turning out to be as anti inflammatory and liver protective as tumeric.

Demulcent and tissue healing. Slippery elm, marshmallow root, and aloe

gel/juice are fantastic. For the discomfort, and this may send your doctor

through the roof but it works believe it or not, cayenne pepper! Care and work

into slowly if you are brave enough to use. It can be an irritant but the

capsaisin is an anodyne (pain killer), stops bleeding, and is tissue healing.

An old treatment for cutting yourself is to pour it into the wound... Stay away

from all NSAIDs like tylenol, aspirin, etc. they all are very destructive to

the mucosal lining. Corydalis root usually works pretty good as a specific pain

killer. All the best, you are now on the road to recovery...

Always, in all ways,

-Dave

Thanks Dave for a wonderful response. I appreciate it. You know what

happened to me. I have been complaining about pain and burning sensation in

upper abdomen and my family doctor was relating it to gallstones and then he

said i probably have inflammation of rib cage and he gave me apo-neproxen

which destroys a healthy stomach as well. Now with a ulcer already in there

i took apo-neproxen for two weeks so you can imagine what would have

happened with my stomach. I literraly forced him to do GI series and

H-pylori test otherwsie he was not listening to me at all and continiously

forcing me to go and take out my gallbladder, i am glad i did not listen to

him. Yesterday when i met with him and told him that look this is what i

was telling you and you were not listening and then he was avoiding looking

into my eyes. Thanks to internet and forums like these that provide an

opportunity to a common man like me to investigate the health related issue

and deal with them successfully. I have gallstones, no doubt about but but

they are silnet stones and i am already taking steps to dissolve them or

flush them out. However, i have to dael with mu ulcer first. I am using

marshmallow root these days and i am going to meet my naturopath tomoorow

and see what he tells. You are right about the doctor, he was Australian

and he actually experimented things on him to prove the existence of

H-pylori. Thanks to dedicated people like him.

Dave, i appreciate your help and i shall keep you posted with developments.

god Bless!

Colloidal silver taken several times per day. Boy am I glad to hear you

did not have your gall bladder out unnecessarily. I do have mine out

and I know it was a mistake. As I still do liver cleanses and still

pass stones and sludge. I wish I knew then what I know now.
