I have some weird symptoms I have been having for about eight months. I feel

pressure under my right rib cage. It sometimes radiates to the center of my

ribs under the sternum. It doesn't really hurt but does sometimes get

uncomfortable. It feels like there is a golf ball stuck there. It comes and

goes and sometimes seems related to eating but not to fatty/non-fat foods. I

have also noticed that at times, I burp up foamy saliva. It feels like I

swallowed an alka-seltzer. I have also had increased intestinal gas but it may

not have anything to do with what is going on. I can eat what I want and very

rarely get heartburn.

The doctor first thought it was my gall bladder but I had an ultrasound that

showed no stones. Then, I was referred to a gastroenterologist who did a upper

endoscopy. That showed that I have mild gastritis but nothing to really worry

about. The doctor said my stomach looked healthy and I could use Prevacid or an

OTC acid reducer as needed. The pain/pressure went away for a few weeks then

returned. I started on Prevacid and it seemed to help some. The gastro did say

that it was also in the area of my gallbladder but he wouldn't want to touch it

since it isn't really giving me much trouble or causing a lot of discomfort.

I just want to know what it is. I hate to go back to the doctor to run a lot of

tests just for them to tell me it is mild gastritis again. Has anyone else had

these type symptoms and got a diagnosis?

Thanks,
