No, take ascorbic acid powder, just mix it in water and drink > Can you imagine taking 100 grams a day? Has anyone tried enough vitamin C > to cause bowel intolerance, and, if so, did it help RA? If im feeling achey, i take about 5000mg every 8 hours or so and it helps, that is the limit for me as far as intolerance goes. When you hit your tolerance its not a big deal, back off the dosage, it passes quickly and you are back to normal. > Thanks, > Gloria > > > > To unsubscribe, email: rheumatic-unsubscribeegroups > > >
Guest guest
, I was wondering what does the Vitamin C do for CMT and how much should I take on a daily basis??
Guest guest
> > I'm thinking about starting high doses of vitamin C (just below bowel > tolerance). Do I just take sodium ascorbate or do I need to keep to > the 3:1 ratio of vitamin C to bioflavonoids? ==>As long as you take 1,000 mg of vitamin C that contain bioflavonoids, etc. you can take any amount of vitamin C in the form of sodium ascorbate. Start with small amounts and gradually increase it. An easy way is to make up all of the water you are going to drink for the day (6 ounces X 6) with the correct amount of lemon juice, ocean sea salt, and sodium ascorbate. Another way to get sodium ascorbate is to put it in an eye dropper bottle and snizzle it into your nose, which increases absorption by 1,000. jBee >

Fairdinkum, these health shops will sell you anything. You're right about not taking their advice, Bee. I think that means with my regular calcium supplement of 274mg taken twice a day, I'm getting too much calcium. Is that right? ==>Yuppers. > Why don't they just put ascorbic acid in a vitamin C. ==>The product is labelled " ascorbic acid crystals " which is vitamin C. > I'm confused, is calcium ascorbate a form of vitamin C and not calcium? Thank you very much and please forgive my 'slowness' on this subject. ==>They put calcium in with ascorbic acid to buffer the vitamin C, i.e. make it easier on the stomach, but I recommend you buy the pure ascorbic acid and buffer it with plain baking soda instead. Guest guest
HI Care, Personally from my extensive experience I wouldn't use that one at all. Scarey just looking at the list. Sorry. Unfortunately many companies out there add lots of things to their supplements and don't really need them in there even though they tout that they do. I spent many months researching all the companies in the country I live in order to locate good 'clean' as I call them, supplements to supply to my clients. It takes time to find ones that aren't loaded with poisons and rubbish however they are out there. in the UK On 8/30/07, care22be <care2be@...> wrote: > > I wanted to list the ingredients in my Vitamin C I bought from Costco, > Kirkland signature brand: > Asorbic Acid, cellulose gel, citrus bioflavonoid complex, hydroxypropyl > methylcellulose, stearic acid, croscarmellose sodium, silicon dioxide, > magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, rose hips, acerola. > > Vitamin C 1000mg > Citrus bioflavonoid complex 100mg, 10% (10mg) Hesperidin and rutin > > I am out and wanted to know if any of these are a no-no. > > Thanks for your help. > > Care > > >
Guest guest
Thanks Bee and everyone else with their answers. I knew it looked like a lot of stuff I would not want to know what it was. I had it and used it...might be why I am going slow on this way of life. : o) I will look up the Natural Factors and maybe take my ascorbic acid powder for now. No, do not take that product. The worst ingredient is polyethylene glycol which is antifreeze. Can you get Natural Factors brand? They have a great vitamin C. Hi , you can keep increasing until you reach bowel tolerance. Then you can back off a little bit. However, you already have diarrhea as you stated below so it might be difficult to tell if it’s just from die off or from the Vitamin C. >Im also taking all the other vitamins and minerals at the recomended >rate. should i increase the others as well? Some people take up to 1,500 mg niacin for detoxing but if you feel ok it’s not necessary and you don’t have to increase the other supplements either. >I also bought the betaine hcl should i have 1 at every meal? How do i >know if i actually need it cause i seem to be digesting the food fine >I do get alot of diarrhea lately which im assuming is from the candida >die off. The way to do it is to take 1 with the first meal, two with the next, and keep increasing by 1 per meal. If you are taking several, spread them out throughout the meal. If you get a burning sensation you know that you have taken too much and you can back off to the previous dose. Also, take ¼ or ½ tsp of baking soda in water for the burning sensation. a

However, bowel tolerance levels may change from time to time as well and it can be confusing because diarrhea is a die-off symptom so you can't know whether it is the amount of vitamin C or die-off. > Im also taking all the other vitamins and minerals at the recomended > rate. should i increase the others as well? ==>No, do not increase any other supplements when you increase vitamin C to higher doses. > > I also bought the betaine hcl should i have 1 at every meal? How do i know if i actually need it cause i seem to be digesting the food fine I do get alot of diarrhea lately which im assuming is from the candida die off. ==>If you are getting diarrhea do not increase your vitamin C. If your foods do not come out whole on the other end, and you do not get an upset stomach, or other digestive disturbances you might not need much betaine hydrochloric acid; you would still be okay taking 2 tablets however - take 1 in middle of your meal and the other one after. I am not familiar with a product that contains those ratios of ascorbic acid to sodium ascorbate; does it contain anything else like calcium ? Yes you can take 2 of the vitamin C capsules you described per day as well. Bee

Your tablets contain 200 + 340 mg = 540 mg each. 6 tablets = 3,240 mg which is okay. Taking more doesn't hurt. Bee
Guest guest
Yes... you have to take it with Baking Soda. 1/4 tsp ascorbic acid powder with 1/4 tsp baking powder 3 times per day. In addition, take the 1000 mg of Vit C with Flavinoids at some point during the day. I mix in my liquid chorophyl with them and take 30 minutes prior to breakfast, lunch and dinner.
