Guest guest
Yes, osteoporosis comes from the body dumping calcium from the bone to prevent acidity however you should also note that only thin people get osteoporosis. Do you know any fat people that have it? That is because fat people store these acids in their fat. Thin people don't have the fat to store those acids. Message: 11 Date: Tue, 8 Mar 2005 19:37:59 -0800 From: " Loren " <parksl@...> Subject: alkaline diet .. Another expected finding, if the high pH treatment of cancer were true, would be that women with cancer should be more prone to osteoporosis given that the body has been dumping calcium from the bone to prevent acidity and the spread of cancer. But to the contrary, women with cancer tend to have higher bone density. A study of 8203 postmenopausal women for 3.7 years revealed an increased risk for breast cancer among women with higher bone mineral density. Women with the highest bone mineral density were almost twice as likely to develop breast cancer. [J Clin Epidemiol 54: 417-22, 2001] This is corroborated by other studies. Another study showed that bone mineral density was positively associated with uterine but not colorectal cancer. [bMC Cancer 2: 22, 2002] Yet another study of 6854 women over age 65 years, the risk of breast cancer was about 30 to 50 percent higher for every measured increase in bone mineral density. Guest guest
According to a USDA publication, it's the repeated dieting in the obese that causes the bone loss. I still see no correlation between an alkaline diet and freedom from or cure of cancer except the cesium studies. " Therefore, if overweight and obese individuals participate in numerous episodes of dieting to lose weight they may be inadvertently increasing their risk for low bone mass and/or osteoporosis. To study this issue 78 premenopausal healthy obese women participated in a " Healthy Living Project " . Women had a history of chronic dieting. Low bone mass was observed in 31% of the women based on bone scans of the spine and femur. No biological cause could be found to explain the low bone mass except the history of chronic dieting. Significant negative relationships were observed between the number of times women participated in weight lose diets, dieting restraint, and bone mass. These results suggest that repeated dieting may led to low bone mass in otherwise healthy obese women. We already know that doesn't happen; although there's plenty of calcium and magnesium in the body to neutralize excess acid, one has only to take an AM pH reading of the saliva to see that a cancer patient is usually very acidic. The foregoing actually has nothing to do with high pH thrapy used by many health professionals. Duncan Crow

Loren, I actually heard that from a guest speaker who spoke about the causes of illness and disease on the Coast to Coast am radio show. It was Gray (yes the famous Gray who wrote the Mars and Venus books). He's just published a health book and he stated that on the show. So I will gladly and politely retract my comment particularly since it sounds like you are much more knowledgeable than me. The book if you are interested is this one, which I haven't read but again just listened to his 3-hour interview about health topics. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0312318642/ref=sib_rdr_dp/104- 0545966-2115119 > ----- Original Message ----- > From: " Tracey " <traceym@m...> > > Yes, osteoporosis comes from the body dumping calcium from the bone to prevent acidity however you should also note that only thin people get osteoporosis. Guest guest
You make a great point Duncan - that does make sense that bone loss can occur in overweight women due to repeat dieting. > > > > According to a USDA publication, it's the repeated dieting in the > > obese that causes the bone loss. > > " ...These results suggest that repeated dieting may led to low bone > > mass > > in otherwise healthy obese women. Guest guest
Here is a web site with a list of foods and which ones are acid and which ones are alkaline. One thing to remember is cooked foods for the most part are acid. Greens are the most alkaline foods on the planet. The chlorophyll in the greens is alkalizing. This is a very good site. http://www.energiseforlife.com/list_of_alkaline_foods.php > > > > > > > > While it's not IMPOSSIBLE to have too much calcium, it's very, very, very > > > > hard, for us humans, not otherwise deathly ill, TO HAVE too much calcium. > > > > > > > > Calcium regulates our acidity, and we need to STAY alkaline, if we can. > > > > > > > > When we're acidic is when we are susceptible to opportunistic diseases, > > > and > > > > illnessed. > > > > > > > > Dr. Dan, PhD Researcher > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
