Hi Pam,

Just got a chance to read your post and I see you talk a lot about " good " animal

fat. I don't believe there is such a thing, unless you consider fish and

animal...Fish oils/fats are wonderful but if you suspect you are having issues

with your gall bladder it is suggested that you stay away from animal fats. I

have invested in a huge tub of raw honey. It is creamy in color and I spread it

on my high grain bread....don't miss the butter at all...

Apple cider vinegar also works wonders.

Wishing you well.

Subject: Re: I think I had a gallbladder attack today & have some

questions.

First of all, I want to thank everyone who responded.

I went to a county clinic... the doctor I saw did diagnose

gallstones; however, also pyelonephritis (kidney infection, passing

pink urine). So I am on an antibiotic (Cipro) for 10 days, plus a

pain killer to keep me comfortable enough to work (lost two days of

work!).

I will buy some malic acid this next week when I have some more $$

available. I do have several kinds of vinegar here too, including

apple cider vinegar.

I did eat a lot of junk food for years. I recently went back on low-

carbing it (diabetic, after all, and I got there by eating too many

carbs).

This means I did up my fat intake, but what I consider to be good

fat intake... good animal fats (including butter), good olive oil,

etc.

I think what I've done is add the fats on top of still having a

gallbladder full of stones. I've been advised to cut back the fat

for a while.

I have a gallbladder ultrasound on Monday. Assuming they will

recommend immediate surgery (for a first attack?), I will put it

off. I don't really want to undergo surgery.

Maybe I won't be able to tolerate as much fat as I had originally

thought. Normally low-carb means that you increase your intake of

your good animal fats.

I will investigate and read further. I want to do a gallbladder

flush (well, eventually more than one).

My diet has been mostly meats and vegetables. In the past, I did

indulge in junk foods rather heavily (including carbs such as

Twinkies).

What u may want to consider in the bread realm is sprouted spread and

eliminating all bread that is not made from sprouted grains. As for

animal fats completely eliminating them is a good thing and fish does

not fall under the category of " animal fats " .

Good luck
