Re: Discrimination in Gujarat

Dear friends,

While looking at a news from Arati Samajpati from Gujarat I would

like to say, in addition to express grave concern over the situation,

in Gujarat that it can only be addressed when we are in a position

to create a conducive environment through several ways of making

pressure on the Govt., raising people'es awareness and collaborating

with the like minded NGOs/CBOs and other individuals as we did in

Rajasthan under Intersect Coaliton. I am of the view as it could be

possible through sharing experiences and cllaborating at inter state

level.

There was a state level meeting of NGOs/CBOs and other individuals in

Jaipur on Sept. 21-22, 2004 under the leadership of Ms. Sally Fisher,

the Founder President in which the Rajasthan Intersect Coalition was

formally established after long deliberations in 2 day workshop followed

by group discussions on various issues. It is now very actively working

in the state.

Now the state level Coalitions are to be formed in some other states of the

country including Gujarat, Bihar, Orissa, M.P. etc. Kindly let us have your

consent if you are interested in joining the Intersect Coalition. I will send

you some relevant material after hearing from you.
