Depends on issue, money, and solubility of the desired chemical. Alcoholic

tinctures are much faster absorbed so they are a bit faster, and you get a

higher shorter serum spike. This is an advantage sometimes, not so others. The

volume of tincture needed to get the job done can be in the several ounce per

day range, so amount of alcohol may become an issue. Whenever you do any type

of extraction process something is lost, even if it just making a tea.

depending on solubility issues an alcohol tincture may be a terrible extraction

method, or a tea could be lousy. Tinctures are much more expensive. In my

practice I use whole herb ground and encapsulated almost exclusively, but does

not mean it is the best. -Dave

I, for one, am glad you did. And, oh yes, it's worth plenty... it's the

limbo of waiting out the returns that challenges one's sense of value and

prompts a quip. Just be patient... pennies from heaven will abound and

transform into quarters and silver dollars on their way down.

Hi Fred, Sorry this has taken so long, been a bit preoccupied. I have

answered this question before but I guess it has been awhile so will again but

Dale, Vince, or whoever is admins now could you please archive if it has not

already been? Thanks.

OK, I am a heretic would be the best description. I have been in natural health

from a professional standpoint since '76 in various positions and degrees, but

not in terms of " natural medicine " until the early '90s when I had an epiphany

and changed direction in my life. I have had a full time practice since. Some

of my " credentials " of which concept I despise, are Certified Herbalist, and

Kinesionics (form of applied kinesiology (not AK)), there are quite a few more

but do not want to drone. I teach professional courses in both of these as well

as a few other things at community colleges and private venues here in the Puget

Sound area as well as Oregon and New Mexico at this time. My life experience

and subsequent choices have led me down a rather eclectic path and have the

amazing grace to have been exposed to many things and many people that are a bit

out of the mainstream so have quite a bit of experience, training, and now

ability in the more intuitive side of life. Buy the way, my academic background

is in math and science so this path was very difficult to say the least. Thank

God for quantum physics, it has been a wonderful salvation of my sanity... So I

see the worst of the worst, many who have been either cut loose by conventional

medicine or are searching for other options. I use both my knowledge of both

sides, energetics, and intuition. I have both a retail and wholesale dispensary

as well. Quite the ride. Gets me up in the morning. I write on this group

because Dale asked me to quite a few years ago in order to keep the science

straight and put in my 2 cents worth which in today's economy is probably not

worth much... Hope this helps, I am reluctant to discuss such topics. Always,

in all ways, -Dave

And it has been well worth the request. Dave is a very busy person, the very

fact of how much information Dave has provided to this group as well as myself

speaks volumes regarding his passion for helping people. His knowledge here is

just second to that mathematical brain of his. I swear, he reads something and

it is locked. If I want to know how to pronounce some long word or get a better

understanding of what a medical word means who to I call? ........Dave.

Dave, I really really appreciate what you have been doing for this group for so

long.

So here is one raised with a " Cheers good buddy. Good times, Good friends, and

More of both " .

Thank you all. All that have expressed their kudos, and everyone else as well.

This is a big reason that I am not comfortable with this discussion. However,

all of you need to know that I have learned far, far, more about gallbladder

issues from the people on this group than all my academic learning.... Nothing

like being bent over in pain, puking your guts out, to stimulate yourself into

action... Huh? Seriously, it has been through necessity that we engage in

life sometimes. Some of you are aware of what has engaged me in life. None

more so than Dale. It is friends like Dale that get you through the horrific

times. It is a pleasure and an honor to engage with this group. Spectacular

group of people, each and everyone. When Dale asked, I rolled my eyes, 'cuz

more to do was not what I thought I needed. I was wrong. So as Dale has so

eloquently raised the glass, Good times, good friends, and plenty more of

both...

Always, in all ways,

-Dave

I have totally missed what goes on in this group only because I am so busy with

my own thyroid group that I have had for 6 years now.

The greatest gift has been this sharing and even though we all have lives the

ability to share and maybe just maybe save a life is why we do this.

I think back and both hubby and I could have had surgery and now we are well.

And when you take control over your health better health follows!!

Watching the news tonight a woman close to my age taking 16 pills a day (heart

issues) you have to think how insane it has become when you allow someone else

to take over your life.

Prevention is key--get on top of the disease state and see if you can correct

the problems before they get so bad you have no tools left except the 16 pills a

day----
