Oh! I see the dates now. oops.

I read on line and have recently switched my view to " Topics " instead of

individual posts... Maybe that had something to do with it.

But I agree with - this isn't too odd for a community list like

this. People come and go as their lives go through seasons. I am sorry

that it's causing you so much stress though...I have run them in the

past and I know how much work it can be.

Might 's idea of closing down the one's that aren't active help

with your workload?

" Might 's idea of closing down the one's that aren't active help

with your workload? "

It does seem to be an easy solution to the problem, but it is more

complicated than that. Although there are currently two FAM forums in

my gun sites that may be closed soon. And no, they are not The

Gentlemen's Guild or the Ladies' Lodge.

I am here and reading and just about caught up, as I had gotten

behind with the posts in all the forums.

I have been finding it hard to communicate, express myself on

the fourms - this is due to things happenning off-line in my life.

Life has been throwing so much at me recently I hardly have time to

process it. Day to day functioning becomes harder under such

circumstances, but I am managing and surviving - but to some extent

my cognitive abilities go down and I find it harder to take some

things in other than what is immediate to my and my son's survival.

These forums are very familar to me, a constant (I view these forums

daily, even if I am not posting) - it would distress me if they were

gone. I understand though such is not my descion.

I may not say it often enough, but I am thankful these forums are

here, so 'thankyou'.

I don't write in that often, but I read everything. I've been busy packing.....I'm moving back to Texas the end of June.....and being disabled, this packing stuff is not easy. My pain level has gone up and the problems I'm having with my eyes is getting worse, so my vision is more blurry. But I'm trying to get out of my place so I can stop paying the bills here. The sooner I can get my stuff picked up, the sooner I can go stay with my mother while I wait for my friend who is flying up from Texas to drive me back down there. She can't make it until 24 or 25 June.....and she's flying space available (used to work for American, so she said she has priority over other space A people I sure hope so!!!). But I moved up here in November because this is where my

mother and brother with his family live and they claimed they would help me get to doctors appts, etc. What they didn't tell me was I was going to be living out in the middle of nowhere. 1 hour to the doctor, 45 miles closest Vet (and since I've gotten here, something is wrong with my dog and the vet can't figure it out), 30 miles closest store......and it's all country roads. I'm so confused here I can't drive anywhere.....of course with my blurry vision, right now I'm not driving at all. And I was told IL had all these special programs for people like me; disabled under 65, on SSD, etc. Well, I don't qualify for any of them. And I have to schedule everything around everyone else's schedule (which to a point I understand, but when I'm in severe pain and need to see a Pain Management doctor, I need to go.....now.......and the closest one is 1 1/2 hrs away). And now they're wanting to send me to St. Louis to a

neuro-optomologist, that is a 2 hr drive. I just can't deal with this. Where I live in Texas, referred to as Mid-Cities, between Ft Worth & Dallas, all my docs were 5 - 10 minutes from my house, or 15 if you hit the lights wrong!!!! I could go on my own if I had to, I had a pharmacy that delivered. This town, actually it's not even called a town it's called a Village it's so small - 500 people - mostly children - doesn't have anything: no bank, no stores of any kind, no restaurants, no fast food, NOTHING!!!! Just a small village out in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure that appeals to some people, but it doesn't to me. I guess I was spoiled living where everything imaginable was within 15 minutes of my house. On top of the fact, I feel like I've stepped back 20 years in medical technology. A few of the doctors here had never even heard of some of my problems!!!! No joke. The GP I

went to actually admitted to me she was going to have to go look up sjogrens.....and she also said I was the first patient she had ever had who had some of my problems. Everything in this area if volunteer: fire department, ambulance paramedics. The ambulance came 2 doors down about a month ago and my brother was at my house, we were standing in the front yard and he knew the person who lived at that house (of course he does, he knows everyone in town he's lived here almost 30 years), but the paramedics looked like someone you would see just out anywhere - the store, etc., 2 young guys who looked like they might be in HS). I couldn't believe it! But I asked my brother if he knew what the problem was and he said the guy has really bad heart problems. So I asked where they were taking him, was told to the closest hospital 30 miles away (and this is a 16 bed hospital).....no cardiologist, if he was bad enough, they would have

to take him by ambulance once he was stabilized to St. Louis - 2 hours away - the poor man could die!!!! I never heard the end of the story, what happened to the man. But with all my health problems, I want the hospital down the street - I have 2 within 5 minutes of me, one in each direction and they were major hospitals......and when you called 911 - the whole fire department showed up (ambulance was connected with fire department). I don't know why they brought everyone, but they did.....I had to call them twice while I was down there. Some people would love to live here and live like this, like my brother!!!! And that's great for them, I'm just not one of those people. My mother who is 73 and was the one taking me to the doctor appts (she's in perfect health) even said she didn't realize how often I had to go to the doctor and wasn't really aware they didn't have all the specialists down in this area. She

lives 1 1/2 hrs north of me.So I'm going back. I've already got a place to live, just have to finish packing and get my stuff picked up. I'm hoping I'm not shocked at the expense when I get my quote for the move. It cost me $4,500.00 to move up here, but I'm only taking a fraction of what I have back with me. I've already sold a lot of stuff (almost all of my heavy stuff like my oak furniture) and I'm also leaving a lot behind. So I'm hoping it will be at least half, even with the gas prices the way they are.Well, that's what is going on with me. You're probably sorry you asked "Where is everyone?"!!!!!! lol I just figured most people either weren't feeling well or it's finally nicer weather and were doing other things. Hello SueGiven gravity's propensity, the earth is against you, otherwise you'd fall through and out into space. The problem with an email list is that it's asynchronous, we're here but we may not get to your email till much later.   Also, the vaguaries of and various spam filters could easily give the appearance that everyone suddenly disappeared.Regards,On May 29, 2008, at 4:56 AM, Sue wrote:I haven't heard anything from anyone here this week> Where is everyone? Hi Sue

I like many others on the lists have a busy life, and sometimes I don't have time/energy beyond dealing with my own medical concerns to be available that much at all times.

I'm sorry that the uncertainty of having contacts here is hard for you.

Sometimes it is hard to find enough resources to keep oneself content even when those we would like to rely on 'let us down'. But I did learn early on that it was necessary for me to do that, so as much as possible I do. .. with LOTS of options to keep me safe.

Sorry I can't stay longer, but I am up against the clock for some necessary medical 'stuff' for myself.

Ah SueI'm so sorry that I have not replied to anything. I've had my hands full with going to Pulmonary Function Test, Blood work chest xrays, diagnostic mammogram, and ultrasound mammogram. Yesterday, I went to get new eye glasses and today went to another dentist appointment. I'll post some time later as I'm exhausted and falling asleep siting up

Hi Sue. {{{SUE}}} Been feeling overwhelmed with Doctors and discouraged over the length of time my disability claim is taking to go through. Been depressed a little but excited because I have a job finally, bit part time but it is exciting for me.

I admit I have been lurking because of a series of posts that were hitting too close to home and really triggering my anxiety and depression. I hated to do it but had to pull back to keep my sanity.

Josie, welcome. If I have missed any of your posts I apologize. I will try to be more active for everyone again.

, great luck on your move. I live in a rural state and taught in a town just like that and it took too much of a toll on my physical and mental health.

Take care everyone

I'm at the point where I'm ready to pull all my hair out. But I went and got it cut short this AM. I went to a Best Cuts Hair Salon. She took a razor comb, a handful of hair, and I think she drew blood Sue. OUCH!! I that stinks. My eyes tear up thinking about it. I have a VERY sensitive scalp. (((Sue))) I HATE razor combs. I go to a Beauty School because a)its cheap, and B) they cut hair the old fashioned way -- with scissors. Also someone has to inspect the hair cut and make sure I am satisfied before it is done.

From the flow of messages on this list--the way several suddenly come through at

once, out of order--I get the feeling that some messages need to be approved by

the moderator(s).

I moderate a small list that's not easily found through the main

directory, and it can be a real pain dealing with all the spam. I can't imagine

how much more there is to wade through on an enormous, public list like this!

Thanks, Moderators!

I understand about moderation - I'm a moderator on a 2900 member

group. But this group had never been quiet for that long, and it

isn't moderated, according to the group info page. I've since seen

issues in other groups, so must have burped again.

Annoying, but hey - the service is FREE... :-)
