Guest guest
The pale stool is lack of bile. This can be liver or gallbladder or a combination of both. The psyllium definitely will bind bile but not just the salts but all. This is a desirable thing. Try increasing lecithin, water, and malic acid. Adding some type of cholegague (bile stimulating) herb would help tremendously. An herb like Baikal skullcap or coptis will be quite anti bacterial as well. The SIBO should only be a very acute situation. Should be able to be under control within a couple of weeks. All the best, -D Pale stools - while eating high fat and doing Holistic Horizons colon cleanse Boy, I'm really hoping someone can help here. I have SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). Eliminating ALL forms of sugar helps tremendously, but to get enough calories I must eat a lot of fat. I eat 4 T olive oil/day, 4 T seeds, 4 T almond butter, 4 egg yolks, and some meat and vegetables. I have been doing this for many months. On Sept 8th I started Holistic Horizons bowel cleanse. As of right now, I am up to the max 2 t of psyllium fiber 4 x /day. On Sept 19th I made a note of pale poops and this has persisted. I am wondering if this is b/c the fiber is binding the bile salts and preventing htem from being reabsorbed ? If os, what can I do about this ? Some more info: I take the psyllium 1.5-2 hours away from other food. I take 500 mg taurine to replace the taurine part of the bile salts I started lecithin (1T) a few days ago - no change I started high lipase digestive enzymes a few days ago - I was hoping by allowing the fat to get absrobed quicker the bile salts would be absorbed before ingesting the psyllium - no change in color so far.
