Guest guest
Muscle relaxers by themselves will cause you to be constipated - I took only one a day (in the evening so I could sleep) and it kept me constipated for months! It's from the meds I'm on. I take senecot and stool softener to help with bm's. Sometimes have to resort to fleet. As for urination problems Dr prescribed Flomax, as seen on TV. It helps alot, but I still stand for up to 5 minutes or more waiting for something to happen. Hope this helps, Dave >- > >__________________________________________________________ >Be a better friend, newshound, and >know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
I drove myself home from the hospital after the 2nd of surgery and did all kind of normal work, including heavy lifting after the 2 weeks, and after 1 month of the surgery, i regulary go to gym, do weight lifting, jogging and there is no problem at all. You should address this problem to your surgeon and see what he/she says.....? good luck to you On Wed, Jul 1, 2009 at 12:25 PM, <Mom2SavNSyd@...> wrote: > > > May I ask how long post op are you? Guest guest
Hi Priti, The purpose of the pillow is to absorb the " shocks " aka " bumps " in the road. It is great advice. I would think that " soft, " but not too soft, would be the better choice. Regarding recuperation. Best to ask the doctor, plus to see how he is doing afterwards. Varies with everyone. Probably younger is sooner. Some people will respond to you based on what their experiences were or what they have heard. Also depends upon what you and your son consider to be " normal " activities, since that can vary from one person to another. I would take a guess that in your son's case, he could think about 2-3 weeks, but do ask the doctor. ________________________________ From: priti19.mahajan <priti19.mahajan@...> achalasia Sent: Sat, June 25, 2011 8:16:36 PM Subject: Post Surgery question  Hi, Lots of people had suggested to take a pillow for after the surgery drive home, does it matter if it soft or firm etc or is any fine? Also, my son wants to do volunteer work this summer so if things go well in that case what is normally doctor's instructions to resume normal activities. Thanks, Priti
Guest guest
A firmer pillow works best (in my experience and opinion). As for returning to normal activities the doctor will advise you on that but I suggest you don't try to rush it! Your esophagus/stomach has just been through a major trauma and if you exert yourself you could possibly cause a rupture (which you DON'T want -- I had a rupture of my esophagus and it was NOT fun!) > > Hi, > > Lots of people had suggested to take a pillow for after the surgery drive home, does it matter if it soft or firm etc or is any fine? > > Also, my son wants to do volunteer work this summer so if things go well in that case what is normally doctor's instructions to resume normal activities. > > Thanks, > Priti >
