Guest guest
Thanks for posting that link, but that flush calls for 1.5 to 2 cups of olive oil, consumed over time. I have enough trouble getting 1 cup of that stuff down even when mixed with lots of grapefruit juice. Theres some other good info there though. This is one of Ingrid Naiman's sites. This woman is fantastic. Should tool around her other sites when you get a chance (she wrote the definitive book on escarotic cancer salves). Getting on her mailing list is quite educational as well. -D Hi Dave, Yes, Ingrid has a bunch of websites with loads of great articles and information, and her focus is often from the perspective of the Ayurvedic approach to health and healing. However I agree with Brad that her recommendation to take 1.5-2 cups of olive oil for a liver flush by sipping it over time is off base. I've done about 7 or 8 flushes so far, and each time I mix 1/2 a cup of high quality, organic extra virgin olive oil with 1/2 a cup of freshly squeezed grapefruit, shake them together in a glass jar and chug the whole thing down at once. I've never puked the mixture once, and the next morning without fail, stones, chaff and sludge come pouring out. I never have any aversion to consuming oils in my diet after doing a flush either, as she suggest will happen after doing her protocol. There's also no mention of using epsom salt in her protocol, which IMO is a really important component of any liver flush, as the magnesium sulfate not only helps to relax biliary ducts which encourages and eases the passing of stones and gunk, but can also help to stimulate the contraction of the gall bladder. (Here's an article with more information on the important role played by epsom salt in the liver flush) http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=985355 Neither does she recommend doing a castor oil pack and/or an enema prior to the flush, nor does she suggest doing a coffee enema after the flush, all of which can dramatically enhance the overall effectiveness of the cleanse. I also think it's more beneficial to simply use straight milk thistle, dandelion and/or chaca piedra to cleanse and support the liver than it is to use that Stone Free product she mentions, which contains a bunch of different herbs, some of which look to be geared more toward dealing with kidney stones. I've learned a lot from Ingrid and continue to have a lot of respect for her, but I think the liver flush protocol she recommends on that link really falls short of the mark. In all fairness to her as well, her flush is not designed to work the same. It is designed to emulsify or soften with the citric acid and the shear volume of olive oil over the period of times keeps a constant flow and mild stimulation to both the liver and gallbladder. And in some cases calcification is involved too, right? The more I look into these things, the more it seems calcification is a significant factor in many chronic conditions...kind of like barnacles building up over time inside our bodies. >>> The protocol for kidney stones is 3oz of fresh lemon juice mixed with 3oz of olive oil 3 times per day for 3 days. Bloody incredible. Has worked for clients 100% of the time so far over the 4 years I have been using it. Gets them out of pain usually in a matter of a few hours. Many herbs that are supportive of the kidneys are supportive of the liver and visa versa. >>> Fantastic! Thanks so much for letting us know about this. Does it just relieve the pain, or does it actually result in the passage of kidney stones? Elan
Guest guest
Dave, are you suggesting that everyone stay away from spinach or just those prone to kidney stones? I eat fresh spinach 4 - 5 days a week! > > > > > In complete agreement. I was not actually purporting her protocol for all the reasons you mentioned.
