I'm also a firm believer in bringing someone with you to the doctor. I'd been to my primary care doctor so many times...she had no clue of what was wrong with me other than as she put it....and I quote " some kind of migratory inflamation " . Initially she suggested an over the counter pain reliever. Then she sent me to an orthopedic surgeon, then to physical therapy. I was in very bad shape and was getting worse by the day. Knowing what I now know..I can't believe she didn't immediately refer me to a Reumatologist. I thought I must be going crazy and for some reason was embarassed to go back for the umpteenth time. It wasn't until I told my husband that I thought I might be dying that he insisted on going to the doctor with me and insist that she refer me to somebody who could figure it out. My crying wasn't enough....she needed to hear it from a man to take me seriously. > > > Hello, My name is Leanne, I'm from Australia, and I'm the Mother of a > 14y.o. with PA. Guest guest
Dear , Isn't it annoying that you needed a man to get through to a woman doctor? Somehow you would expect a woman doctor to listen to you more, or not be as wiling to just blow you off. As much as I hate to say it, I've taken my husband in with me too and a lot of times you do get better treatment. Sometimes my husband doesn't say a thing, just sits there and frowns..lol. I think that worries doctors the most since they don't know if he is mad at them or just at the whole situation. Seriously though, I've taken my daughter in with me and most of the time, have gotten better treatment then as well. (It probably doesn't hurt that she is about 6 feet tall and a beautiful blonde...lol, Half the time the male doctors end up talking to her more than me..lol.) But having someone with you does validate the whole illness and it helps to have someone back up your story, even though your words should be enough. I'm lucky and have only broken down once in front of my family doctor and he immediately said I needed more anti-depressants. I tried to tell him the pain was just really bad that day, but he couldn't write the prescription fast enough. That's so annoying to me, like you aren't allowed anymore to even have emotions when you talk to your doctor. Doctors used to say, a good cry got everything out and you got a pat on the back, and now they immediately want to medicate you. I guess we all have our doctor horror stories. Take care and hopefully we will all find great doctors eventually, as long as we keep looking. Fran [ ] Re: Tina Leanne, I agree......NOTES, NOTES and more NOTES. I do the same thing. Guest guest
Fran, that sounds so much like my experience, becauase when I went in to see the doc after pretty much not sleeping for a week, i was exhausted, and frustrated, and tense, and I was crying. I suspect that is what made the doctor diagnose depression, but just because someone is crying, doesn't mean they're depressed. It means they're upset. It doesn't denote a medical condition. I think that was what pissed me off more than anything else that doctor said. How dare he! How dare he diagnose depression with only 3 mins of chatting? How can someone do that? There's a heck of alot more things that happen when you are depressed than crying or lack of sleep. I was furious. That was what made me go see my GP and demand a referral to another doc. To Any Newbies like me : YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THAT CRAP! Learn about your condition, pay attention to what is going on in your body, and be ready to stand up and take action if you feel it's warranted. Just because they are doctors, doesn't mean they have the right to treat you like sheep who don't know any better. Don't let them push you around. The best thing I can say is EDUCATE YOURSELF! Cheers!! Guest guest
Hi there! Strangely enough they are not sure what I have.. By the time my Chirrosis(sp) my liver was so shrunk and hard.. a bio was impossible. They guess the closest Dx is PBC. The only meds I take is Spirolactone 25mg and prevacid. 20mg. The Spiro keeps my electrolites balanced nd the Prevacid keep food down. I am jaundiced and swollen but they say that is to be expected. My MELD is 22 but I still am able to function most days and my Drs tell me to what brings me comfort or pleasure. I also take Codine when I can't get thru by meditation. So that's me! Guest guest
Tina you don't think mercury fillings and arsenic could be the problem??? The tests I took are from about five years ago so they probably would not be acceptable to you. Also we just moved and not sure where the paper work is at. Now we are looking at houses and getting ready to move again and re=packing. Something you should know if you are interested, seems I was sick from birth or as far back as I can recall and just kept on getting worse as I aged, but right after the arsenic poisoning is when I really hit the floor so to speak and got much worse. I still beleive I started to get sick when I was you shortly after getting dental work done. I think too there are generational curses because on my mothers side there is a lot of cancer, stones disease etc..all fungal related stuff. Also have had a severely stressful and unhappy life so am attacking it currently from a spiritual view since nothing else has worked and nothing ever shows up on testing except fungus. I also plan to get the mercury out of my mouth if I ever have the money and opportunity which is why I am selling my house again and moving to a cheaper place. Guest guest
I have been helping woman with thyroid and related conditions for ten years now and I have seen so much misdiagnoised woman and men in this area. It's really unbelievable. And yeast is a big one for thyroid and diabetes. Espeically if you have had it for years. Most doctors can not read blood work---- and no mercury fillings and arsenic do not cause these conditions. poisiong does not help anyone but our bodies can handle more of it then we think. Thanks to the GB!! and our fats. Serrapeptase really helps with celation for some people---so if you think you have high levels and have been tested (hair, or blood) you may want to take it for at least 6 months and get cleaned out blood wise. That is where this supplement really does it's job. If you have also tried large dosing of vitamin C (like 5 grams a day for months and have not conquered yeast than I would surely get retested for thyroid/diabetes) It's really silent for the most part till it gets much worse. http://www.endocrineweb.com/hypo1.html > > > Tina you don't think mercury fillings and arsenic could be the > problem??? Guest guest
there are many studies out in Europe and this product has been used there for a long time now--- read those--- as for side effects the only one it has is slight thinner blood which is on the same as taking extra C or vitamin E---or ginko. (which can be due to the cleaning of the blood of fibrin excess) NO known side effects to the liver which is excellent for an anti-inflammatory--so on the par with advil, tylenol ect. NSAIDS---it's zero side effects to the liver--- There is much homework on this and keep reading-- we have had excellent results on blood work--- I can't say enough about this supplement but get the correct blood work for your problem and take it for six months and get retesting--- then you will see it--- we have seen results in 6 weeks on cysts, fibrin --lipid levels takes a good six months of cleaning--- > > Hi~I checked out this product and to get your own opinion you should check out this website, and maybe a few others. Just don't like the idea that it hasn't been around long enough to know about potential side-effects. http://www.raysahelian.com/serrapeptase.html > > > herbladie > >  > > > > > I have been helping woman with thyroid and related conditions for ten years now and I have seen so much misdiagnoised woman and men in this area. Guest guest
Hey Steph, Thanks for your emails when I get a chance i'll respond. Heavy metals can cause numerous health problems one of which is Candida. The body allows for the production of Candida to absorb metals. Of course Candida overgrowth can lead to other health problems linked to excessive ammonia. I would get those fillings removed ASAP. There are many Lyme Literate MD's who do not even begin to treat Lyme disease until the patient is on a comprehensive Chelation protocol. Also there is no evidence to suggest that heavy metals are not causing your condition. Due to the excessively high neurotoxicity of these substances a whole variety of conditions and illnesses can manifest. Not all the causative etiologies have been uncovered with hypothyroidism and toxic metals are one likely (unrecognized) cause. Btw my parents both had their fillings removed and replaced with pocelin. Some of their symptoms vanished within 1 week after extraction. Other symptoms seem to be improving as well as time goes on they have not done any aggressive chelation. --- In gallstones , ectopistes@... wrote: > > > Tina you don't think mercury fillings and arsenic could be the > problem??? Don….I want to tell you that this post today affected me more than any I have read. As I said before I am a Mom and my 23 year old daughter suffers from Hep c. She is presently on treatment..etc. What I wanted to say to you is that today your post has hit the nail on the head with what I am feeling about my daughter. It is so sad that in life we must experience all this pain and ruin many lives before we realize that it could have all been different. The human race is just so predictable. When we are young we know it all, we are fearless. Our parents try to help us learn from their mistakes but usually it never happens. In life we must suffer the bad to find the good. Hearing your words gives me hope that someday her eyes will be wide open and she sees more than her own suffering. Right now she is young and full of drama and cannot see the ripple effect of her actions. She only knows she is in pain. I often tell her that I pray she never experiences what we have had to deal with as parents. It is God’s cruel joke. He gives us the power of choice yet we all too many times choose what we know is wrong. I am always in the background reading all of your posts, everyone out there. Some of you stories are painful and then there is that one flicker of hope that I read in between the lines. To all of you I say that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Someday perhaps the cure will come for all and not just a select few. I pray for my daughter to be one of those lucky ones. Time will write the ending of our stories but for now we can only live chapter by chapter. Thank you all for your outpouring of honesty. Hugs and prayers for each and everyone out there.
