Guest guest
I am currently trying to rest comfortably during my second gallstone attack in just over a year. I thankfully had some Tylenol 3 leftover from the birth of my son five months ago. I did end up taking a600 mg ibuprofen thinking the anti-inflammatory properties would help and I no longer have to keep my arms over my head for relief. Please forgive any typos as I am on mi iPod. On November 30, 2009 I had the most painful experience of my life. For thefirst time ever I had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital. I thought I was having a heart attack at the ripe old age of 29! The ultrasound confirmed many small stones plus my 6 week along pregnancy. I was referred to a surgeon who suggested surgery postpartum and gave me an unrealistic list of foods to avoid. I was so scared. I sought a second opinion from a younger doctor and while he also recommended surgery I was given a much better food guide. In the small amount of research I could do I discovered that many people who experience one gallstone attack may never have one again so I continued to eat the way I was - I have followed Weston A. Price/Nourishing Traditions for just over 3 years now. The last couple of months I have not followed a healthy diet but deceived myself because my weight only stayed within about a 3 pound range. Today I started to have what I thought was gas pain but then I started getting lightheaded and this weird warning feeling in my mind. The pain moved and I just instintively knew it was my gallbladder. I got nauseated. Called my husband home from work then got on the phone to my mother for distraction and help. She suggested it was a stomach bug so I took one of my zofran. I did a quick google search for treatment and saw something about laying on my left side with a pillow under me and my arms over my head to relieve pressure on my gallbladder. DH made me some chicken broth for lunch and I have been here since - the last 4 hours. The Tylenol 3 should be wearing off now. I am still tender under the right side of my ribcage. Does this mean it is over? What do I do now? I am breastfeeding so I am hesitant to do any cleanse. I am on my iPod now so I can't go read a bunch of stuff right now so hoecully someone can helpme.
