Guest guest
Why go back on the GFCF foods? Weren't you eating them when you got sick? I remember the foods you listed and they were NOT healthy foods to fill up your diet with. If it were me, I would continue eating the liver healthy diet plus the things I could now eat, like dairy. But then again I have access to raw, healthy dairy products. Do not be afraid of fats. They are what satisfies you. Eat tons of veggies, put olive oil on them. Eat eggs (why aren't you eating eggs?) Now that you know cleaning your liver has benefits, I'm not sure why you stopped those healthy practices. You need fat, your baby needs fat. No more GFCF packaged/processed foods! Evie > > I had colon hydrotherapy done twice in April with water only. They were going to use coffee the next time, but I never got there. After the second hydrotherapy (about 2 hours later), I had a severe gallbladder attack. I'm thinking I passed a stone b/c at my first ultrasound I had two stones, and then right after that, they only showed one. The one was right near the end of my gallbladder, so I'm thinking it was blocking the main duct out. Anyways, shortly after that attack (my 6th in 10 weeks), I had my gallbladder removed. That was on April 30th. I had diarrhea a few times the first month, after eating beef or at a restaurant, but now I seem to have adjusted and can eat freely without any problems so far. (I've never done a flush for several reasons, but mainly b/c I was not certain of its safety during pregnancy, but I don't want to debate that now.) > > I ate a liver friendly diet for 3 months. Prior to all this, I would get migraines from the slightest amount of dairy. I've eaten ice cream and pizza with no problems. I'm shocked. > > My question is, is this from having a diseased gallbladder removed, or from the hydrotherapy, since both were done around the same time? I'm thinking maybe it's from the hydrotherapy, as my liver is still there, but maybe it's from cleaning out my liver from eating so well for those 3 months. I'm not complaining. I've suffered from headaches my whole life and finally linked it to dairy, but even when I was doing the gallbladder diet, if I cheated and had a couple bites of dairy, I'd get a headache. > > The bags under my eyes have returned - bummer, if I eat dairy or gluten. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and still underweight from the 3 months I could hardly eat anything. But, I immediately gained weight after the surgery. I plan to go back to eating my usual 100% gluten and dairy free along with my kids after the baby, but right now, I am so hungry, the GFCF food just doesn't fill me up. I also still stay away from red meat but chicken is definitely back on the menu. And I am taking liver friendly vitamins like Vit C, choline, beta food, etc. along with some others. Choline is good for the baby's brain, but I was wondering if taking beta food is still suggested when you don't have a gallbladder. I'm using up what I had left. > > Sorry for babbling. Guest guest
Hi Evie. Thanks for your reply. Actually, it was when I went off the GFCF diet that I started getting gallbladder attacks. Probably b/c I started eating fast food out of the blue, got pregnant for the 4th time, and was going through a lot of stress all at the same time. I thought eggs were really bad for the liver, plus I think I'm allergic to them so I try to avoid them. All of my kids are allergic to eggs. I showed up as lowly allergic on tests so I just avoid. Prior to my gallbladder attacks, for meals, I would eat organic chicken or grass fed beef at least every other day if not every day, rice, potatoes, GF spaghetti once a week, and fruit. Not much veggies at all. On the gallbladder diet, all I could manage to eat was lots of spaghetti, GF cereal with rice milk, apple oatmeal, tomato soup, apples, green beans, different fruits, and salad. I was starving and miserable and not gaining weight. Can't do fish b/c I'm pregnant and hate fish anyway. I only eat meat about twice a month now, but I'm eating a lot of chicken again, with pizza maybe twice a month. My blood pressure is low - 98/62 yesterday and I'm 34 weeks pregnant. I hope my cholesterol doesn't go up. It's never been high. I do exercise and I'm only 34 and usually weigh around 105 lbs (5 foot 2 inches). So, not sure what to eat. Chicken doesn't seem like it's a bad food, but for some reason, it's bad for the liver. I ate it alot this week and was sick to my stomach last night. Dairy and gluten seem to be doing to me the same things as before when I ate them so now I'm trying to back off those again, which brings me back to chicken! :0 I eat some coconut milk ice cream. I'm thinking that's a good fat and I add flax oil to my salads, plus I do Omega/DHA supplements, CLO, etc. I'll figure it all out eventually!
