Guest guest
Ultrasound detected small polyps in my gallbladder in 2003. Was advised to get operation, but decided against. I don't think I have ever had a " gallbladder attack " - just on and off low level irritation. In 2009 and 2010 I have had several months on and off w/no notable symptoms. In the last 6 weeks or so I get a low level mild burning sensation on the right side just below my ribs. When lying down at night this can interfere w/sleep. Worry and stress seems to increase this. Ginger tea seems to relax me and reduce it. Recently work has been stressful , and on top of that my father died unexpectedly; that seems to have intensified my symptoms. I'm otherwise healthy, not over weight, eat sensibly etc. I have been lurking, reading this list for years - thanks for all the tips. I fit the male stereotype of not liking doctor visits. In the last 5 years or so I did get a comprehensive blood test to check liver function, and all levels were acceptable. It's been at least a year since my last physical. Any advice on what should be checked? My sense is bringing all the symptoms to the attention of a doctor will trigger a recommendation for GB surgery - I would prefer to keep mine. Mainly sharing, thanks for reading. -- just anon
