PLHA meet in Secunderabad Andhra pradesh

Dear Members,

Nrityanjali academy a voluntary organisation is working for the people/children

infected and affected with HIV/AIDS. Every month 30th in the office premises we

organize PLHA meet. This meet basically focuses on the building confidence among

the PLHA and providing medical, psychosocial support in the form of counseling.

This month 109 PLHA, 27 children infected with HIV/AIDS and 37 stakeholders,

peer educators and economically weaker section from Slum’s have participated in

the meet.

The main features of the PLHA meet are:

§ Practical demonstration by Ms.Swaroopa (PLHA), preparation of Bulgur and other

nutrition food with available Vegetables and fruits.

§ Welcome address and motivation of forming self help groups among PLHA by

Neelima (CAA project manager).

§ Review of activities of “Nityanveshini (NAP+)”, Stakeholders meet and Care kit

distribution to PLHA by Chandana (CRS Care and Support project manager).

§ General health checkup, distribution of medicines for Opportunistic

infections, Demonstration of care kit by Staff nurse.

§ Condolence message by Mr.P.Narsingrao (Project Director), sudden demise of

Mr.Yesupadam (PLHA, Nityanveshini, President). Mr.Venkatesh has sung a song on

Mr.Yesupadam.

§ Distribution of Four and Half Kgs of Bulgur, 600 ml of oil 5 Kgs of Rice to

the PLHA.

§ Feedback was taken from PLHA and the participants after exhibiting “Telugu

music video/audio album on HIV/AIDS”.

§ Mr.P.Srinivas, Executive director of Nrityanjali academy gave vote of thanks.

§ Thanks to TV9, Alpha Telugu and Zee News for covering the nrityanjali

activities in their news channel.

Our projects are supported by:

1)Home and community based care and support for PLHA – CRS.

2)CAA project for children infected and affected with AIDS – FHI, CRS.

3)PSH project – APSACS, TRU.

The Programme as ended with PLHA giving their feed back of taking CD4 test and

ARV’s from Osmania Hospital.

We request any Like minded people to come forward to donate Rice, Dal, or any

other form in kind for PLHA.

Dear Sir/Madam

We are People's Action For Social Service (PASS) a Tirupati,

A.P., India based Registered Non-Governmental Voluntary Organization working

in the fields of Health, Education, Geriatric Care, HIV/AIDS Prevention, Eco

Care, Women & Child Development. Today we are with well-established

infrastructure and having manpower of 150 Members in various fields of

social development.

We are currently implementing Partnerships For Sexual Health

Project for Street Children. The project is aimed to bring health seeking

behavior in Street Children to avoid attack of HIV/AIDS. The project is very

effective in its outreach work. As an important part of the project we are

planned to build up a shelter home for street children with following

objectives:

1.To provide Complete food and Shelter for Street Kids .

2. To Provide Behavior Change Communication Services.

3. To provide formal and Informal Education with Special Concentration on

Vocational Trade craft Courses.

4. Providing Home placement( BACK TO HOME).

5. Creating Awareness onSTD ; HIV/AIDS

6. Educating Preventive measures from infected disease and HIV/AIDS.(condom

usage; Safe Sex Methods).

Tirupati being the busiest pilgrim part of the globe it not only

attracts pilgrims but also street children. On an average 30 to 40 street

children everyday arrives at Tirupati. To inculcate health-seeking behavior

in this vulnerable community we have established the above said

intervention.

Being a philanthropic society we are requesting you to

contribute something to build up the shelter home for street children in

Tirupati.
