Although if you are experiencing burning in your stomach the raw apple

cider vinegar made the burning worse for me. Drinking Kefir worked

better for me or a lacto-fermented beverage like Kvass.

Thank you, Alobar, for sharing that you use coconut oil, also.

Although, I'm not sure about adding the ACV. To me, that seems like

it would spoil the taste of the CO. It's kind of like when my gramps

used to put ketchup on his scrambled eggs.... Yuck!

Cooked oil used for a burger has a meaty taste to it. Eating the

burger with raw crushed garlic and ketchup addds more different

flavors. ACV seems to go well with this combo. I also eat coconut

oil off a spoon with no ACV. And I have little pieces of butter +

coconut oil in a bowl in the fridge which I let melt in my mouth like

small bits of candy. Makes a very yummy snack late at night. So

the ACV + coconut oil is not the only way I use coconut oil.

Alobar, how do you make the " ...little pieces of butter + coconut

oil in a bowl in the fridge... " ? How big are the pieces? Do you

actually mix the two ingredients together, or do you pour the CO

over a clump of butter? It sounds like a great snack, too, but I'm

not sure how to make it. Do you mind sharing your " recipe? "

I put a pound of butter in a stainless steel mixing bowl on the

kitchen counter to soften up. I add about 20 ounces of VCO. When

the butter softens, but is not melted, I used a blender stick to mix

them thoroughly. I then put the bowl of creamy mixture into the

freezer overnight. I then invert the frozen bowl on my cutting board.

The butter+VCO drops out of the bowl. Then I take a hammer and

something with a flat blade to break the bock into small pieces while

it is still frozen, being careul not to scatter hunks all over. I use

a tool made to open up oysers, but a screwdriver or chisel would do

just fine. Larger pieces (about a cubic inch) are used for frying.

Small pieces I nibble on. I do this process about once every week to

10 days. I store the pieces in small tupperware containers in the

fridge.

Some of the testimonials I've read about ACV mention possible

erosion of the teeth.

I haven't experienced any.

I think it might be possible, because ACV is very acidic, but that's

one reason to add the baking soda. It makes it more alkaline, so

it's not so acidic.

I think one would have to use it quite a bit to see any possible

erosion.

That's my opinion on it.

Rinse your mouth with water afterwards and there should be no problem. You

are supposed to follow it with

plain water anyways.

You could easily spoon the mixture into various sized plastic ice cube trays and

after hardening just flex the tray to remove the " BUCO " cubes.

  • 1 year later...

> Hi, am wanting to try apple cider vinegar with my son, to help

control yeast, along with his other naturals...Is this kind of ACV the

type I can just pick up off a supermarket shelf?..or do I need to buy

it from a health food store etc?....

Braggs worked best for me, altho I tended to gag on it. So I switched

to Natural Factors which comes in capsules, that works better for me.

>>Also, how much should I give him and how often?...as a preventative

also once the yeast has gone?

I have used it as preventive. Start with 1 tsp of liquid, or 1 capsule.

I use it in my gluten free baking. Most of the recipes call for a teaspoon. It is a natural cleansing, healing and energizing health qualitites. It also contains the stranded-like chains of protein enzyme molecules and has been highly regarded throughout history. In 400 BC Hippocrates used it everyday.I to 2 T. in 8 oz of water three times a day is the recommendations for taking it internally. Not the best tasting but once more as with salt water I just plug my nose.I use Bragg's organic raw unfiltered. you can use it for marinade and making vinaigrettes.Good stuff. from IllinoisFrom: Jag Jag <jaguarundi21@...>iodine Sent: Fri, March 12, 2010 10:21:12 PMSubject: ACV Has anyone ever tried apple cider vinegar?
