Hi Margie. I am 20 weeks pregnant and getting my GB out this Friday. I

don't think you need to wait years to get pregnant. Maybe a few months just

to let your body recover from surgery, but my midwife told me I will be fine

to continue on to have an all natural home birth as planned. This is my

fourth baby and I " m 33. She said this happens sometimes in pregnancy and

the outcome is great. I have had 6 attacks in 10 weeks. I did somehow pass

one stone (had an ultrasound at 10 weeks) but there is still at least one in

there that they can still see. I am following an extremely strict diet,

exercising, and taking the right supp's, and still having attacks. I'm so

depressed at all the foods I can't eat when I have such bad cravings and

ravishingly hungry. I'm not getting enough nutrition for me or the baby

and I'm afraid if I wait any longer, I won't be able to have the surgery and

when I get bigger, I don't know how I'll be able to breathe during an attack

with my belly being so big. Right now, I can't even talk during an attack

and I am gasping for breaths. It wasn't an easy decision, but we all have

to make our own decisions based on our instincts and how we feel. I wish I

had done it sooner. I'm only 5'2 and 106 lbs right now. The surgeon said

he would do it b/c of the desperation in my eyes and that I looked like I

could use a good meal. :) Yes, please! I'm not going to go crazy. I

can't eat gluten, dairy, or eggs anyway but give me some chicken! I know

it's not guaranteed that I'll be able to eat more freely, but every person

I've talked to (and it's a lot) has been able to go back to eating whatever

they want.

I did read in one book to take B-12 after GB surgery for some reason. I

can't remember the other supp. Ask you dr. when you can take supp's again.

It shouldn't be too long. Hope your recovery goes well.
