What an interesting "polarity" policy makers v anti-vaccine lobby!??? I had not digested that on the first read. We are lobbyists? There is an anti vaccine lobby?! Outrageous. This is such Orwellian language distortion.Thank you thank you thank you! Anti vax parents were described by a state senator in the news as opting out and doing the state's philosophical exemption out of convenience, and portrayed as as uneducated in a state said to be the healthiest in the nation with 40 percent of kindergarteners not getting vaccines. I personally do lobby, I organised protests when they brought in H1N1 vax and I frequently hassle the NHS. I in fact, won an argument with them as they didn't have any answers to my questions. I published it here:http://www.vaccineriskawareness.com/Vaccine-Debate-PageI've also been in on a JCVI and bio ethics meeting as an infectious disease expert (named so by the NHS, I didn't refer to myself as that) and I've done petitioning and mass leafleting before so I don't think lobbyist is necessarily incorrect. I mean, every time someone tries to stop them taking away an exemption or bringing in a new mandate, that is

Convenience. Yes, we parents who carry children in our bodies/jump through hoops of red tape adopting, give up sleep for decades, deal with all the stress and excitement of parenting that fill our 23 hours of wake time each day, withstand untold pressure from our family, friends, schools and government--we're too LAZY to get our children vaccinated and opt for the convenience of an exemption. Pfftt!

Oh Winnie - you really do have a way with words! That is just beautiful! It is incredible isn't it? And the apathetic, sleeping masses just listen to doctors and government officials who call us lazy and think yeah, that's right. Never once considering all the word we've done to make our choice vs what they have done - if anything - to make theirs. On 30/01/2012, at 10:06 AM, wharrison@... wrote:

Not to mention that most people who don't vax, also take the time to make sure their kids eat healthily instead of just giving them the processed crap, which also takes a lot of time and effort...

And I find it really funny (if that's the word) that parents such as myself only became anti-vaccine because we were previously PRO-vaccine, and our children were harmed. So, they are really calling themselves names when they attack parents of vaccine-injured children.

Good point. There's a reason they call it "fast food."

This is not recent (nor research) but an impressive statement regarding childhood vaccines: (http://www.aapsonline.org/press/nrvacres.htm)
