Dr. Praneeta Varma has kindly agreed to be a resource person for this

event. Dr. Varma holds a doctoral degree in Sociology and has been

working with HIV/AIDS related issues for over five years. She has

previously worked with YRG CARE and has served as faculty at Madras

University. Her strengths are in research and documentation. She has

been associated with major studies in the areas of Behaviour

Surveillance Survey (BSS), Prevalence of STD among general population

and high risk groups, Communication Needs Assessment, Quality of Life

and cost-related research.

She is currently Program Manager, Research & MIS, at APAC (AIDS

Prevention and Control Project) of the Voluntary Health Services,

Chennai.

This forum will be of interest to non-governmental, community-based and

other agencies and individuals working in the area of targeted

interventions for HIV/AIDS. It would also allow for information

exchange on local resources and expertise.

SAATHII welcomes your participation at this discussion and invites you

to share your experiences, including challenges you may have faced in

documenting targeted intervention efforts.
