AIDS/HIV volunteer programs summer '05

Hello,

I am a student at the University of Pittsburgh, our AIDS awareness group has

been focusing on garnering money and increasing awareness in India this year.

Part of our projects was to inform the youth to take action, but we are lacking

in giving them possible ways to help directly in India.

This month I published an article on AIDS in India in order to encourage young

South Asians in the U.S. to be assertive and help

and since the article has been posted I've received numerous inquires on whether

or not I have any information regarding opportunities in India.

So for the benifit of India and to give direction to all of us looking for a way

to help, will you please post a message on this group asking for people in India

to let us know what short term (1-3 months) volunteer programs exist for foreign

students to come and help during their summer vacation.

Specifically, students are concerned about how housing will work, whether they

will stay in safe areas, and if they can choose certain fields (as in clinical

care, office organization, or campaigning etc).

If this is too menial to post, will you please help me by putting me in contact

with legitimate agencies that may be able to help out?
