Calif - Letters of Abusing Doctors - HELP US STOP AB2109!

Hello All,

I recently visited the State Capitol and Dr. Pan's office. Dr.

Pan, a Sacramento Pediatrician and sponsor of AB2109, feels that

physicians will listen to the parents and that they will - obligingly -

sign off on your personal beliefs exemption form. However, there is no

language contained within this bill which would require a signature from

any of these physicians. Further, at least one Board Certified

Pediatrician, Dr. Bob Sears, feels that there is just cause for concern

regarding this issue, as he states the following regarding AB2109:

" However, what gravely concerns me is that some doctors will

refuse to sign this form. I know how doctors think. Many doctors strongly

believe that vaccines should be mandatory, and that parents should not

have the right to decline vaccines. Some doctors are willing to provide

care to unvaccinated kids, despite this difference in philosophy. But now

the power over this decision will be put directly into doctors' hands. He

or she can simply refuse to sign the form. "

Washington State passed similar legislation last year. We already

have parents in Washington complaining that physicians are not signing

their personal belief exemption. The end result? Pay more money to find a

Doctor who will sign your form (and continue paying out until you do), or

vaccinate your child.

There has never been a religious exemption in California. Therefore,

there is no separate form from our State Public Health Department within

which to use should you not want to shop around for a physician's

signature on your exemption. You will have no choice - should this bill

pass, you will be required to contract out to a private physician in

order to receive a signature on your exemption form. Further, those of

you who home school your children will also be required to receive a

physician's signature on your exemption. Home schooled students will now

be considered to be attending 'private schools,' and thus, will no longer

be exempt from this process. In essence, this law pits a medical doctor

against your religious belief.

In speaking with Dr. Pan, I explained to him what my experiences have

been with several physicians, regarding questions and concerns I had

about vaccines. I told him that these physicians refused to help me and

they ultimately kicked me out of their practices. His response? He told

me he was 'sorry.' Then he asked for the names and addresses of these

physicians. In short, he states he expects AB2109 will pass.

So to all of you parents, who have been bullied by your pediatricians,

PLEASE WRITE LETTERS TO DR. RICHARD PAN. Explain in detail, exactly what

happened and when. Give names, addresses and phone numbers. Express your

pain, your heartbreak and ultimately, your now lack of faith and trust in

your physicians, because of the treatment you have received by your

pediatricians. Please include your name and address; along with ANY GROUP

AFFILIATION you might be involved with (FEAT, NVIC, CALVACCINE RIGHTS,

etc.).

I ask you to DIRECT ALL LETTERS to DR. RICHARD PAN (D), BILL MONNING (D)

who is Chair of the CA Assembly Health Committee, DAN LOGUE ® who is

Vice Chair of the CA Assembly Health Committee and YOUR ASSEMBLY PERSON,

especially if they are on the committee. Make sure whatever form you use,

Pan sees that Monning, Logue and your Assembly Person have been CC’d.

We need Pan to see we are sending these letters to other Assembly

members, so Pan's office knows we are letting other Assemblymen know.

Here are the fax numbers, email and mailing addresses for the three

specified above. You need to find out your assembly person information

for your district. Also, your email will not go through if you are not a

constituent of the above mentioned assemblymen. So, mailing or faxing

would be best.
