Can't get it unless they touch it,according to what they say - who knows.

Can be cured very fast with acupuncture but you can lead a horse to

water, but..................

I have a similar situation. A friend of mine hugged someone who later on lifted

their shirt and showed they had shingles and stated it was ok, the Dr. told them

they weren't contagious. At this point my friend has worked herself up and is

having serious anxiety and thinks she is having some of the symptoms. She is

freaking herself out and is seriously considering getting a vaccine. I explained

the way the vaccine works and am sending her more info. I know there are a list

of remedies once the virus is active and we can treat symptoms but I'm wondering

about a remedy for exposure or onset of symptoms maybe? I've also told her to

boost her Vit C and D3. Any advice would be great! Thanks

Well, vaccines don't work anyway so no point in getting one, especially after the fact. I'm surprised she's more concerned about hugging shirt-covered shingles than injecting toxins in to her body.

I think you gave her good advice already. It's really difficult to reason with people who are being irrational. Maybe you can redirect her fear to where it should be focused--vaccine risks.

My husband has had shingles the past couple of weeks. I have 3 children, the

youngest 4 months old. My husband went to the Dr and was given antiviral

medication. The Dr said to keep it covered but not to worry about any other

precautions otherwise. My dh held the baby, and he sleeps with us. I did wash

dh's shirts separately. If my baby was a few months older, I would have

intentionally exposed him. He was only 3 1/2 months old when the rash appeared.

I was a little nervous about him getting it that small. I don't think your

friend has anything to worry about unless they touch the rash.

the kids with Vit D3, vit C, etc. Also asked her if her dad would entertain

visiting Chinese med practitioner to help himself, but I doubt it since he is a

pediatrician and very mainstream from what I've been told. I know it is

possible for the kids to contract chicken pox. Her kids are unvaxed.

you don't catch shingles from another, you can catch chickenpox from

shingles, but you can't catch shingles from shingles
