Can Petussis cause a chronic lung disease?

I ask because someone I confided in that I don't vax a year or two ago, told

someone at my son's new preschool that I don't vax. Her granddaughter plays

with my son and so we get together often after school, and she keeps cautiously

bringing up the vax issue and reminding me that her husband got his lung disease

from having pertussis, because they didn't have the vax yet at that time. I

don't really say anything because I don't if this is possible or not, but I

doubt it.
