Guest guest
Hi all, And if it weren't enough I was asking about Scarlet Fever....a child from our homeschool group has a confirmed case of Chicken Pox (he's not vaxxed for CP). He came down with fever and pox Monday (yesterday morning). Just out of curiousity, we were with this family on Sunday and sitting close to them during Bible Quiz study time. My question is this - the child wasn't symptomatic on Sunday...what is the likelihood that he was contagious --- and, if he was contagious, what is the incubation period (i.e. when would my kids start showing signs?) Thanks!!!! ~

The incubation period before you will know if your child will get them is anywhere from 7-21 days after exposure. Most children break out 9-14 days after exposure. My own children were exposed to a child that came down with them & my youngest (2.5 years got them 14 days after exposure) & had them during christmas. Then my oldest daughter who is 12, came down with them 14 days later on Jan. 4th (she had the chicken pox vaccine when she was little as I was not questioning the status quo or vaccines back then). My 4 year old got them a day later on the 15th day after exposure. My 12 year old is mortified that she has them but I have told her it is best that she got them now & that we realize now that she was not immune from the vaccine. I can only imagine all these kids in her age bracket who will be getting this disease when they are adults, not good! From: upatdawnreadytowork <upatdawnreadytowork@...>Vaccinations Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 8:41 AMSubject: Chicken Pox incubation period....Hi all,And if it weren't enough I was asking about Scarlet Fever....a child from our homeschool group has a confirmed case of Chicken Pox (he's not vaxxed for CP).
