Guest guest
It depends on the requirements of the agency and how flexible they are. I used to work for an adoption agency and we had a family that was very much into natural living. The placing agency was, in fact, in TN, and the family that was adopting was in AZ. It was a nightmare, without being dramatic. The family fought and fought....struggled to find a doctor (MD or DO) who would write a medical exempton (becauae that is what the agency stated they would accept. Individual state exemptions seem to not apply). they brought in papers and other things stating their position..no go. The placing TN agency said that unless they vaxed the adoption would not go through. With foster, that is pretty much the same situation. A child is in state custody and the state controls what happens. I think some parwnts in sone states have found a way around it but for the most part...not your child, you sadly don't get a say.LoriFrom my Android phone on T-Mobile. I have 2 children biologically that are not vaxed. I can't imagine vaxing a child even if they are not bio from me. We live in TN. We are going to try to do adopt domestically through the state if we can. But has anyone gone through this before.
