Guest guest
I happened to catch Snyderman on the news spreading her "wisdom" on the measles vaccine--said adults should get their boosters, too. Huh? Since when did the general adult population get them? It appears this will be the new recommended vaccine for all adults, just like the pertussis vaccine. Just watch. Then I see this (http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2012/04/19/measles-cases-reached-15-year-high-in-2011/?hpt=hp_c2): "We believe that for many parents a reason to decline a vaccine is they don't think the disease exist, they believe it's gone." Right. Then why do so many of us decline ALL vaccines? This was an interesting comment: " People born before 1957 don't need to be vaccinated. It's widely believed that they either had measles - or were exposed to it." And they lived. Oh, and this: "Between 2001 and 2008 there have only been two measles deaths confirmed by the CDC - a 13-year-old boy with and underlying condition, and a 75-year-old international traveler." 1/4 of a person per year. There's a reason to vaccinate every child twice! Presumably the boy was vaccinated or his non-vaccinated state would have been blamed. And they apparently didn't notice that the 75 year-old's death contradicted their own advice NOT to get the vaccine. They're slipping!
