Guest guest
has anyone gotten this codes from their pediatrician? What can happen if one gets V64.05? I am a little concerned that it cannot be good. We use religious exemptions in school and I told doc that is the reason, yet he didnt use that code (V64.07). These are some ICD codes being used: V64.00 Vaccination not carried out, unspecified reason V64.01 Vaccination not carried out because of acute illness V64.02 Vaccination not carried out because of chronic illness or condition V64.03 Vaccination not carried out because of immune compromised state V64.04 Vaccination not carried out because of allergy to vaccine or component V64.05 Vaccination not carried out because of caregiver refusal V64.06 Vaccination not carried out because of patient refusal V64.07 Vaccination not carried out for religious reasons V64.08 Vaccination not carried out because patient had disease being vaccinated against V64.09 Vaccination not carried out for other reason Thank you. Guest guest
Those are procedure codes - they are standardized so the doc office medical billing person enters these codes when they send the claims to your insurance company - usually electronically. HCPCS and ICD-9 codes are diagnosis codes. Pretty much every insurance company in the country uses these. If you look when you go to the doctor, usually the form they hand you when you go check out - it will have these codes already on there for the popular stuff and the doc checks off what they did...helps the person doing the billing with the coding for the claim. If you look at your EOBs you get after insurance pays - they'll probably show the codes too - so you can see what the doc billed them for. That refusal code is pretty crummy....insurance companies could - in theory - query members by codes to see who is refusing, who has what illnesses etc... > > Where did you see the code written?
