hello I am Cathleen from Arkansas. I finally founbd a pair of okay shoes to

wear to church at payless shoe stores. They are cute, low heeled and afos fit

in them nicely. they are like the mary jane style from the 50's. they have a

velcro strap wich keeps my foot in and from sliding around and the heel comes

up the back of the ankle a ways for support and they are strong enough to

support your foot. I usually wear long enough dresses that not much of my

braces

show. Hope this helps.

I have given up the dress shoe search for personal reasons. But we did have a

doctor that made some. They looked pretty nice. Maybe someone on the list can

find his shoe site. I think it was Paolo??

, I wear fisherman sandals for dress wear. They come in canvas

and leather and in many colors. The straps are partly elastic so hug

the foot quite well. These work nicely with my flat polypropylene

AFOs, but not with my carbon graphite double helix AFOs which have an

elevated heel. The only shoe I have found satisfactory with those

are SAS leather oxfords, as they have a deep enough heel cup and toe

box to accommodate them. Good luck in finding something suitable for

you.
